Virtually lost, a minimalist cries out for "help."
The problems with the audio aero capitole MkII players have been remedied it was a software update, the players work fine- and all bugs have been worked out now. It was the first few batches that had the problems- I still have a P2 chip in mine an...
Any thoughts on a Audiogon covention?
I will be in New Orleans from March 6-9 on business if time permits I would like to meet some of you southern'philes. I will be at "the big easy" what ever that is- this will be my first trip to a city that I have heard so many wonderful things ab...

Any thoughts on a Audiogon covention?
Gunbei- How do you think I got into audio :) I was at an AVN awards show- didn't win anything :( and found out about audio. Hung out with Ron Jeremy and it was a blast, if you guys have a chance and see him(Ron) in a casino try to talk to him, he ...
Best 6sn7
Hey Randy- Glad you made a choice on amps! As far as the tubes go the ones that are really important are the ones on the very front, the other tubes are important but less so then the fronts. I ran Raytheon's in my VK-60 and they were outstanding ...
Any thoughts on a Audiogon covention?
It has been talked about before mostly in private email and we concluded that we are all way to dizzy to get us all together at any time, we were thinking of New Orleans, how ever that seems to have slowed to backward crawl :) It would be interest...
Magnepan 20.1 vs MG 3.5/stereo subwoofers?
George- This is a fantastic subject, I am thinking the same thing though going from 3.6's w/subs or 20.1's, though I can't arrange a demo on 20.1's either! I have a chance to listen to 20's but I am not sure how much different they are from the 20...
Which Amp for Magnepan MG 3.6/R?
Becareful about using mac amps with maggies, I have been told from more then a few dealers it is not an ideal matchup. The output devices on the mac amps don't work ideally with the load the maggies put on them, the dealers who told me this sold n...

has anyone placed maggie 3.6
I don't know why but ficus tend to be the tree of choice for audiophiles- do a search at the aa and you'll find tons of people are using them- in particular with planers/electrostats.
has anyone placed maggie 3.6
I have a concrete wall(block) behind mine with paneling over it and have NO problems and in fact have the fastest response(at all freq. ranges) I have ever heard from any system. I don't think you could go wrong, just use some rear diffusers or Fi...
Who R U?
Dave- You know I am with you buddy!! It's just amazing how much life has changed for some of the early poster's on this thread, a real trip down memory lane- and that's can be damn scary. Hope every one's doing well and they are even closer to aud...
Lullabies, Anyone?
How about learning some Bobby McFerrin songs? he does an awful lot of lullabies, and is about as successful as any one in that line of work :) Other then that I would try doing Metalica's "enter sandman"- though you may want to edit it a little ;)...
And what do Maggies sound like near a wall......
As stated already I don't think it would be a good idea, mine are 5 feet 6 inches from the rear wall and with any less they do suffer in every way. It took me a couple of months to get them dialed in for my room and listening preferences but now t...
Shipping tube amps, leave tubes in or out?
Glen- ROFLMAO!
