Speakers in the 5-6K$ region & their components
It sounds like that you don't want a kit, but looking is free.  This is a John Krutke design. Extremely well known in builders circles.  This would be and enjoyable speaker. Seems to meet all of your criteria. https://www.madisoundspeakerstore.com...

To comment on deep bass with a 6.5 inch woofer... its true that moving enough air with a small driver isn't ideal for anyone who likes that impact that comes from larger woofers,  but multiple small drivers does work.  Todays designs not all must ...
Integrated Amp recommendation for $300 that will balance well with Vandersteen and NAD
That hadn't crossed my mind... nice buy.  Buying used, you can only find so much,  that's a nice little  amp. Congrats

The Only SP Series that I've sat in Front of is an Old SP10.  It did a lot of nice things, but in the end added color.  Pulled a review of the SP 17, sure sounds good.   The Muse Sold.  I've only seen a couple of these available in the past 5 year...

Relatively inexpensive parts does not mean poorly designed. The likes of the SB Acoustics woofer in the GT is not known as the most top tiered builder,  but I have found their quality consistent and very good indeed.

I had an old buddy that had a 38s in his system. I hadn't heard it, but he liked a lot. It has a good reputation as one of the better ML pre's.  Not sure this helps. I would say,  Make sure that its the "s" version.  I recall it fairing much bette...

Well to continue with Roy's question at hand... the Grand Teton uses a SB Acoustics, 5 1/4 inch woofer and a Heil Air Motion Transformer tweeter,  both are directionally horn loaded and use a diffuser.  None of these parts are outrageously expensi...
Replace C28 with... ?
What I expected to hear,  enjoy!  What about the tweeter?  Nevermind

Other than the Accuton, I've used every driver mentioned.  In every case, with good crossover work, the finished product would be very good.  I think that your letting the price of a single driver get in the way of the finished product. Peter ment...

@sunnyjim Well Jim,  this would be a very tough choice for me... Really too bad that you can't compare and if I understand correctly, you haven't heard any of them.... So: The Muse is really very good,  I understand that you are unfamiliar with i...
B&K ST202, modify or replace
I don't find these 2 amps in the same league of one another.  To be fair I haven't heard an ST202, but at one time I owned a Reference 4420 and for my taste, the DNA .5 would slaughter it. The B&K was soft & pretty, kinda laid back... The ...

@sunnyjim Hi Jim,  I didn't realize that you were in a budget that high, I was looking at that $1500 & below.  At that price point ($1500 & below), you have best of the best lined up in SS.  I've had tubes in every form in my own system,  ...

@sunnyjim Hi Jim,     The CP comes with a basic remote.  The $150 upgrade is larger digital readout remote. The Sanders is comparable to a Coda 04/Windows Continuum III, it was from around 2004 or so, the CP replaced the CL with added phono, I bel...
