What are the best entry level integrated amps and speakers? Belles Integrated, Elac Speakers.... model depends on if you can find new or previously enjoyed.
Used Bryston 3B-ST or Schiit Vidar? I'm sorry that I don't have an opinion, I've not heard the Schiit, but I'd sure like to hear from a few people that have heard them both. I would also like to hear how they differ in sound and if one is clearly better than the other.
Evaluating Potential Setup, Solid State Pre-Amps, buffers, XLR Cable Length Schiit Freya will do a good job for you gives you balanced out and a choice of passive, active or tubes. Decent sounding unit too.
Thinking of changing my solid state pre amp I didn't mention this in the 3 that I posted, but actually the Conrad-Johnson Premier 18LS is an excellent pre, I have seen it once or twice below $1000. All the models that I have listed are excellent performers and will do a great job with your...
Thinking of changing my solid state pre amp Muse Model 3 Signature Wyred 4 Sound STP-SEBel Canto Pre1... Pre2.... Pre3 (all 3 are very good)
Which material sounds better for speakers construction? Wood, Ply or MDF? @geoffkait Well actually you are correct, I really should have thought through my words better... it is low density, because it is lightweight, but I guess we could compare carbon steel or you could call coal a carbon as well as diamond a carb...
Which material sounds better for speakers construction? Wood, Ply or MDF? carbon fiber makes sense to me... it is a very dense material that is dead and if bonded over another would offer a very nice damping material.
Thinking of changing my solid state pre amp Really tough question, so I have a few to help others chime in:What type of music do you listen to?How loud do you listen? What other gear will go along with the pre? (amp/speakers etc)What is your budget?
Which material sounds better for speakers construction? Wood, Ply or MDF? There are a ton of excellent speakers made of many types of materials. In the end, as long as a cabinet is well designed with the cabinet included in the design, the drivers and crossovers are still more important to the overall design than the ...
Which material sounds better for speakers construction? Wood, Ply or MDF? Anyone building DIY cabinets can use Corian at the very least:Best materials are composite polymers. And this is not debatable. Even though Corian would work, I want anyone to be careful that might plan a diy project, you can't grab any material ...
To Finish modding or not If you are keeping it for years to come, it may not be a bad choice, however, even though I would expect improvement, I would not expect night and day improvement.. next, after the mod, your Adcom won't be worth much more than it is worth right n...
Preamps better than Parasound JC-2 ? @milpai Coda CL vs Rowland Capri S2 It wasn’t that the Coda walked all over the S2, that would not be a fair statement, but In My System, The Coda had a wider soundstage, the Coda had a bit more detail and the Coda was more dynamic. For me, the ch...
Preamps better than Parasound JC-2 ? Hi @milpai I was on the preamp trail for awhile, tried a few and lost money on some. I had a Coda preamp, not well know for pre's ,but really enjoyed it, but always wondered "why no love, there must be something better".One pre that I heard was...
Which material sounds better for speakers construction? Wood, Ply or MDF? There is no absolute. MDF is more dense than plywood or wood. Wood on its own depending on type has all kinds of problems with expansion and contraction. Plywood works, but still is a softer less dense material... However, if you are after an e...
Low Watt Solid State Amp I agree with the Bedini 25/25..... Very similar would be the Sumo Nine if you can find one properly refurbished. (60 watts) With a parts upgrade the old Sumo's sing. |
