Snell E type ll crossover rebuild thoughts I highly recommend going with good film in place of the Electrolytic period. As Erik said, there are several Electrolytic in the tweeter circuit alone. If I recall correctly, Peter used series crossovers in these speakers and I could be wrong, ...
Religious music for less than devout It may be mentioned here, I haven’t read the whole thing, but Jonathan Schlitt of Head East went to Petra and John Elephante of Kansas went solo Christian, It is good music. DC Talk had a couple of songs hit the top 40 Charts.... I’m thinking of "...
Why do you think Bi-Wiring improves the sound ? When I build bi-wire terminals on speakers, it is only with bi-amping in mind. Why would you add 8ft of speaker wire, rather than 3 inches in the crossover?
Swapping out OEM speaker driver with new driver If you want to send me a good working driver, I can spec it and find a suitable replacement. If interested, pm me. Tim

Jeff Bagby passes away due to Covid I guess I’m not saying anything new here. I had met Jeff and had a few conversations with him. We thought very much alike in most aspects of life and speaker design philosophy, we are the same age. Really enjoyed my limited time with this true hum...
Super tweeter for FullRange Driver Assuming that you are correct and your current 15 is 96db, as long as that 96db is based on 2.83v @ 1 meter, you will need around a 10db pad on the Fostex. The Fostex impedance curve shows that from 10k to 15k, this tweeter runs nearly a flat 8 ...

Can speakers sound worse during break-in period? Yes, capacitor break in means.... "more juice"Actually, a capacitor consists of two or more conductive plates which are not connected or touching each other, they electrically separated either by air or by some form of a good insulating material s...
Can speakers sound worse during break-in period? To have a guy that is clueless and argues almost every point under gods creation is one thing, but to have a guy chime in that calls himself a manufacture that apparently has never taken the time to measure drivers at several points of break in i...
Can speakers sound worse during break-in period? @geoffkait I would argue that many, if not most of those things mentioned also change during break in. Of course, that may or may not be the intent of your post.
Replacing capacitors in Dalquist DQ-10 Speakers @andyhifimanI’ve rebuilt a few dq 10’s. I don’t have schematics in front of me, but I recall 8 caps..... C1 in woofer or mid woofer circuit, C2, C3 are in the midrange, C4, C5 & C6 are in the tweeter and C7 & C8 are in the Piezo. I am goin... |
