BADA DC-222 any good starter mods?
Geoggkait... I saw the headphone amp the other day sifting through some ebay listings. Seems like a pretty good buy. Haven't seen anyone complain about this (DC222) amp yet. Not like I've seen for higher-end amps, at least. Headphone amps included...
Any Mojo Audio Power cable owners ?
Last summer I spent a bit of cash upgrading and after a big investment (to me at least), I wound up not even listening to my stereo for a week and a half. Very disappointed. Then I started researching the possible areas where I was having problems...
Speaker crossover mod. Your advice?
Any opinions on the Cardas caps?

Thanks for the rec! Much appreciated.
What age did the "audio bug" hit you?
Holy mother of thread revival! I was always into great sound but it was initially from getting the best sound out of my violin and drums. Then I turned 15 and the mobile audio bug hit me and I was doing MB Quart component or sub installs for guys ...
BADA DC-222 any good starter mods?
Thanks for the response. I've learned quite a bit about capacitors in the realm of audio since I initially posted this. Judging by the lack of responses at all I imagine few if any actually own this amp, which is fine. I bought it for the platform...
HiFiMAN HM-602 Portable music player
LOL! You hit that one right on the nail. Good call. I can't argue with any of that. And I won't. I was looking to the iCube a little more as of late and decided it really isn't worth the $700. I think one might be paying for the portability factor...
HiFiMAN HM-602 Portable music player
Cwlodon,The alphabetical file storage is a real deal breaker for me. I had a small issue with that with my Sonos player until I got it right but before that I just couldn't take it. I think I'll just get an iCube V2. Not like I'm ever on the move ...
Coax vs. Toslink
+1 with Kbarkamian...I commented on another identical thread like this and concluded that my optical connection certainly sounded better. There seemed to be something extra mixed into the sound when I hooked up the coax. So for cd/dvd/blu-ray play...
Best Towers Under $1500 for beginner system
+1 on the Monitor Audio RX8. Since they can be a touch on the bright side you should consider the Monitor Audio GS20 or if you are lucky and find them cheap, the GS60.
Something Stinks
It is possible to fry a capacitor or other circuit and the unit will still work. It won't operate as it is intended by spec, but it can still operate. Problem is, now you face the possibility of something more catastrophic and god forbid, a fire. ...
Help me solve static electricity problem
Buy several cans of Static Guard and hose down your carpet. Seriously. I did that once and it worked. For a day. But it worked.
Cambridge Dacmagic? Real improvmt or hype?
I love Toslink myself. But that shouldn't matter. I'm more likely to believe that the dacmagic is your weak spot considering the rest of your gear. IMHO. Have you considered trying out some other higher-end dacs in your rig? You may be surprised.R...
Which cost more: your system or your car?
Pefstratiou... Whenever you want to unload that GTR I'll be waiting... patiently... staring at it every night from behind a picket fence. ;-DSeriously, if you have a picket fence then we might have a problem. LOL! j/kMy car (2010 Acura TSX) is sti...
If money were no object, what would be in your rig
Ok, to be honest, I wouldn't change much. The room I'd put a lot into. I wasn't lying about that. I'd go with an all tube setup. Probably some Cary or Ayon Audio monoblocks with 300B tubes. A rockin' turntable that is as beautiful as it is functio...
