Gustard R26 - good but not the one I’ve had the R26 for about six months or so and I’ve heard it pass through several different break-in stages. There isn’t just one. I believe there’s upwards up five. Very odd but maybe not for an R2R. Anyhow, overall I think it is a very fine DAC...
Hyperacusis. Looking for recommendations Thanks to everyone for replying back with some excellent ideas. Sorry I couldn’t chime in sooner. Work. You know... JD! Yes! I ordered the Stella. I saw all the tubes, did a double-take, counted 16, initially, bought it, recounted to 20 and was l...
Review: AAD Loudspeakers 2003 Speaker Mitch, it appears I'm about 2 years late to the party. Haven't been around these parts in awhile. They are indeed rare as all hell so at the present moment, I am not considering selling or trading them. But, if my beloved AAD 2003 (in rosewood) ev...
WARNING Counterfiet cables I find it highly unprofessional to send a customer a reply such as that quoted above. Wow, is all that comes to mind. Thanks for the info.
Virginia Beach Unfortunately since the date this post was first written I've moved into a larger place and now have a room mate so I can't offer my residence as a place for listening events. But it doesn't mean I won't grab some gear and haul it wherever!
Virginia Beach Very true. And I'll keep trying. Thanks!
Virginia Beach Hey there. Thanks for the reply. I listen to quite a lot of music and I've gotten into Acoustic guitar and new age classical and piano quite a bit about a year ago. I listen to a lot of other stuff you nor I would ever dream of playing on our rigs...
Cardas Cold Forging Lenny, I'll give my opinion freely without question. Thanks. The fact that I have not heard them does not mean anything. But one thing can be true, fusing different metals can easily change the electrical properties in a negative way. So there may ...
Cardas Cold Forging I would venture to say the only perfect solder connection would be made with pure silver or smelting both the conductor and connector material together. Either process would be expensive. But I still think cold forging is bs since is doesn't actua...
Has your HiFi changed your musical tastes It has only served to expand my horizons. Did nothing to alter what I listen to, however, I don't listen to the same things I may listen to in the car.
Front Speaker Cable Lengths I'd agree with Kal. I see lengths of 1.25m and 3m and I think, what if my amp is in the middle and the 1.25 doesn't reach? Or, from your perspective, what if you decide to rearrange?Trying to cut costs when you purchase new will cost you even more...
$8k budget. Need advice. Thank you all for taking the time to make your recommendations. They are appreciated.Mceljo, I've always admired the Nova for what it is. Great for general listening but lacks the overall power to really make these monitors get up and go. But the ...
$8k budget. Need advice. They were hooked up to a Peachtree Nova. And they were still amazing! But the dealer didn't have any other amps I was interested in so that ended right there.Pass Int-150. Did some research on that the other day. Also looks promising. Thanks!
$8k budget. Need advice. Thanks Cmalak for the suggestion. I will look into it more.Ts0711, thank you as well for the VTL suggestion. I have only briefly looked into their gear but it seems like a good route. As far as sources, I am still working that one out. I can't for ...
High-end amplifier clarification? 55% of annual gross income. And you have to buy it new from a retailer that is not a demo/floor model. Even better, special order makes it special high end. |
