what else-$$ ????? I like the hemi idea, but I'd go for a Charger Daytona with the pointy nose and big wing! Second choice would be the Mercedes SLR McLaren with 617 HP!
2 systems in one Why don't you run the tubes in the winter to save on heat and solid state in the summer to save on cooling the heat-generating tubes? You're right, you shouldn't wire them both at the same time.
Loudness of TV Commercials Early versions of PVRs such as Replay TV did allow you to easily skip commercials. The networks threatened the manufacturers, and the feature was soon eliminated. There may be hacks available for PVRs. A Google search will probably find some.
I saw Pearl Jam last night... Hey, It looks like Pearl Jam has some really worthy causes on their list of charities. I'm happy so see some of the other charities address children's needs. I'm not so sure about the puppet theater though. Anyway, I love to follow a controversial...
Wilson Benesch Torus subbass system. I think it would be nice if Wilson Benesch just used some larger drivers to achieve better bass in their speakers!

I saw Pearl Jam last night... I'm amused to hear the hand-wringing explainations of how "brave" these entertainers are to "take a risk" on an issue. Freeing innocent prisoners is not a "leftist cause," but many (usually ignorant--in the true sense of the word) entertainers ten...
I saw Pearl Jam last night... A band having a political, usually divisive, "cause" generally means that they'll soon be entering the dowside of their careers. That's fine with me. I listen to music to entertainedand relax, not to get a drug-addled, poorly conceived, leftist po...

Help me make the best arm-cartridge matches Thanks for the responses. I purchased the two different cartridges due o their different sonic characteristics (I like variety). From what I had read previously, the Decca cartridge does best on a damped unipivot arm and is very sensitive to VTA a...
ARC CD7 vs ? ? I have a CD7 and Ref 3, and I couldn't be happier. I found the CD7's playback to be superior to the Linn Unidisk, Musical Fidelity TriVista and several other players I auditioned. The CD7 has a wonderful midrange, excellent imaging and extended, n...
I think it is time to retire Whoa, calm down everyone! I think that many of those who responded to this post are far more "mean-spirited" than Jjmali. His point has been entirely skewed by the hand-wringers that are so worried about the artists' feelings (sniff, sniff, bottom...
Led Zeppelin Classic Records 45 series -Am I nuts? I can barely wait for my set. Acoustic Sounds thinks they'll ship in about a month. I doubt we'll ever see them on SACD, as much as I like it, the format is dead in the water.
My friends... blind followers of this Audio Guru You should enjoy your own system. The cost of the components does not necessarily correlate with the amount of improvement. From my own experience, your "guru" has pointed your friends toward higher quality and better-sounding components over time... |
