Grant Fidelity B-283 Tube Buffer: Worthwhile or No
The real use for a tube buffer is not to tailor the sound, though it will for better or worse, but to make impedance differences between source and preamp or preamp and amp more system-friendly. This is accomplished via a high input impedance on t...
New Zu Mission cable
Does anyone have any impressions of this cable at this point? Presumably if you bought during the promotional period and it has been burning in regularly, you have an opinion or two. This was touted as a big deal by Zu so I'm curious if it lives u...
An Informal Assessment of Anti Cables
@ 2chnl -- thank you for that refreshing review. Good read. Also enlightening, as I have that very same recording of "Cookie". Picked it up as a sampler at the CA Audio show this summer in Emeryville. I had no idea anyone was even talking in that ...
Advice on interconnect choice
@ Ton1313 -- Thank you for your feedback and clarification. @ Curious G -- I created a new thread on the Mission cable. Pls post anything you find relevant.
How do you judge your system's neutrality?

Speaker footers – Ugh
I'm tempted to try some of the Boston Audio TuneBlock S feet underneath my speaker spikes.
Music vs. Components
After tweaking my stereo and room all day today and last night, I've come to discover that 'listening to just the music" is achieved only after all components and listening room are complementing each other in such a synergistic way that they don'...
The Hub: California Audio Show
The Kronzilla amps in the Consensus room were sweet. 100 wpc SET, for a cool $32k a pair. The tubes were these big foot-tall things that cost a cool $2k a pair...I thought that room was one of the best sounding of the show.I'll give the nod to the...
New Tom Petty
At first I didn't get it. I thought the songs were too simple and a bit predictable, and I wasn't prepared for their style or a lot of the country influences. But the more I listened (and later with the aid of a certain, ahem, mood affecting plant...
Are you a Verificationist about audio?
Just waiting for this thread to start heating up with Machina Dynamica references. Perhaps also links to that H-Cat thread?
Audiophile Addiction
I was hoping it was that. But you did walk into it. I sincerely wish you and I the best of luck.
