The Outlaw ruins X-mas
Scott, Thank you for the details. There is always more to the story. Outlaw has always done very well by me. I am glad Scott stepped in and posted his reply. Seems pretty cut and dried to me. Go whine somewhere else.
"I'll pay you later today"
I have had nothing but positive experiences on Audiogon. Lots of people "fishing" but all those that said they were going to pay did pay. I do have a new policy: a buyer is notified that they have 24 hours to deposit the money in paypal or I go on...
Can I biwire VR4jr and use datalink simultaneously
No. The data link should be removed if you biwire. You will simplify the signal path by using direct biwires and the datalink is redundant. Not only that, you will confuse the speaker!
any thoughts on Antique Sound Labs amps
Thanks!TG
calling all headphone gurus
I have not personally tried this unit, but it looks interesting. Maybe someone else here has tried it and could offer an opinion on the Antique Sound Lab UHC Signature:http://www.divertech.com/asluhcsignature.htmlThe only disadvantage I see is the...
My Jolida 100 skips even on new cds. How to fix?
Bartokfan-Really? Three times you have read about a problem on Audiogon and you say trash it? You don't even know what the problem with the unit is! If you trashed every piece that had an issue on Audiogon, there would be very few units left to bu...
Lower end DVD player
In the end it will mostly be dependent on your display. Secrets online mag uses objective endpoints for ratings and you can compare their analysis. It still depends on your display. With the Oppo you can send it back if you don't like it. Other th...
Lower end DVD player
I have an Oppo 970HD connected by component to a Panasonic RP HDTV with excellent results. I had the system calibrated by an ISF technician and I think the results are excellent, and only for $150. I am waiting for the formats to stabilize and for...
VR4SR datalink
I found the bass was improved by running separate wires from the amp to each of the terminals and removing the data link. The top terminals (the tweeter/midrange) and the bottom set of terminals on the bass modules each receive wires of the same l...

You may be interested in the review on TNT-audio, an internet magazine I enjoy and respect.http://www.tnt-audio.com/sorgenti/oppo_dv970_e.htmlhttp://www.tnt-audio.com/sorgenti/oppo_dv970_tech_e.htmlGood luck!
Von Schweikert VR-1 question
I love the VR-1s. They will mate well with the components you have. Mine even sound great in a wall bookshelf! (WAF) They will sound even better properly placed, but are not picky about placement. When they are properly placed you will hear a tall...
Opp 970 for SACD and DVD-A
I had the 963sa and I replaced it with the Oppo 970. I have been very happy with the unit. The video checked out well by a video technician. I have a few DVD-A and SACDs, but not many. I like the sound and have not had any problems. For most music...
Dynaudio Audience 52 plus HSU 2 sub or NHT 2.9 or
I see there has been no response yet, so here goes. I used Dynaudio 70 floorstanders with a Hsu VTF-3R Mark 2 for several years. I really loved that system, especially with rock. I have heard the 52s and liked them a lot. I had the sub set at 30 H...
Anyone listen to the Bel Canto e.One S300i amp???
I have been extremely happy with my Bel Canto M300s driving Von Schweikert VR-4 JRs via anti-cables. The high end is quite detailed and if paired with a bright CDP and/or bright speakers could very well be edgy and bright. It doesn't come across t...
Speltz Anti-cable needs break-in period?
This is kind of a "point-counterpoint" post. I have not noticed any difference with my anti-cables over time. Maybe it has to do with the absence of a dialectric (just guessing here), but even when I disconnected it to move the speakers I did not ...
