I need help choosing a DAC You can try the M2Tech hiface for 30 days from Tweekgeek. I could hear a very slight difference going optical out from my mini to the PS Audio DLIII vs BDP-80 and Oppo 980 into the DAC. Using the hiface meant going asynchronous into the coaxial sp...
is a center channel really necessary?? I would first set up the 2 channel exactly the way you want it. The speakers are dialed in to their best spot and the electronics are off to the side and your chair is where you like to listen. Then add the extra speakers for 5.1. You can either o...

I have had no issues with the latest drivers and have run 192 out from the USB to the PS Audio DAC. There is clearly more air and space aroun...

Dac with very good tonefull bass? I have the stock PS Audio DLIII and love the sound. It has plenty of bass but is well balanced throughout. It can be modded for further improvements. It only costs $600 new. I haven't heard the other two.
Blue ray player with good audio I just received an Oppo BDP-80 and run the digital out to a PS Audio DLIII. I love the sound. Together that is $900 new. The picture on the Oppo 83 is better (some say the best that is possible now)if you are running HDMI out to your display, for ...
New Budget CD Player I would still consider buying a DAC for the Rotel. I realize it could die any day, but they have been reliable from what I read. That way you would have a much better sound than any CD player in your price range. I own a PS Audio Digital Link III....
M2 Tech hiFace users P.S. I use the hiface with the bluejeans digital coax running from my Mac mini to my PS Audio DLIII.
M2 Tech hiFace users Any cable that is guaranteed to meet the 75 Ohm standard is applicable. Some believe that there is more to the cable than that and can hear the difference, but I cannot. I recommend blue jeans cable for digital coax.
Need help with Dedicated music server. You might consider using a M2tech Hiface for USB out to SPDIF into the Berkeley. It is asynchronous and passes 192k. The reports are that it is works flawlessly with Windows.
How low can we go with JITTER now? Kijanski,I agree completely. It is exactly what I like about vinyl. There is a coherence to the sound that is more natural and real as opposed to bad digital which is artificial and "out of time". I am still searching for the computer solution to ... |
