Do people really just not get it that their items are not selling...
I checked about two weeks ago. 95 cartridges on the gon 94 cartridges on canuck 78 Koetsus alone, on the ’Bay. This is not difficult math, folks... As you can see from the prior post, the only thing selling here, is the unexpectedly low priced stu...
$10k Speaker Cables??????????????
We once had an inquiry for a 8.5M version of our reference speaker cables. We recommended against it. We would have had to customize it and add more strands for a couple of reasons.the fluid metal has a low resistance compared to some other non wi...
dead cartridge? Darn the Luck ! ! !
I can’t find a wire diagram for my Philips AF 887 tt headshell. So I’m just guessing. Your Philips head shell will likely be wired left side pins and right side pins, each top-bottom pair comprising a channel. On the Ortofon OM series, the top t...
Reel to reel deck directly to power amp ?
potential turn on thumps. Turn on thumps from the deck in question, might be a problem. Consider investigating that firstly with a preamp and some headphones. If no combination of reel deck output levels at turn on of said deck, are capable of pro...
dead cartridge? Darn the Luck ! ! !
let right top bottom on the ortofon cartridges, re the pin locations, is not the same as US built and Japanese built cartridges. It’s a real PITA some times, as we hook them up the same as other cartridges..and get what seems like a dead channel. ...
Isolation stands: snakeoil?
Though since high end audio is rife with snake oil I have little doubt this applies to some (or many) isolation products. This is emphatically - not true. Some just have limited reach pear shaped brains, full of flat earth projections and musing...
Your last concert was to see who and when?
Leonard Cohen, before he 'left the building', obviously. He was on stage for 3 hours and 15 minutes. I don't go to concerts much anymore....
Dunlavy SCIVA'S... Mine sound bland
My post was somehow erased. I'll try again. the dunlavys are designed for high current solid state amps with gobs and gobs of power.  Their impedance is from 2.5 ohms to 5 ohms across the entire frequency spectrum. check out the stereophile review...
Ifi Spdif purifier
If Thorsten was involved, it's likely an exemplary device.
Anyone used these audio ceramic slow blow fuses from Littlefuse?
This is new... Looks like littlefuse is stepping into the audio market. Now, some hack please tell me how wrong I am about how a fuse can possibly make a difference. Imagine a chip into existence on my shoulder and then proceed to rail against it ...
The Devil is in the Cartridge Setup (and a good phone pre)...
I’ve had my hands inside of more equipment than some have seen with their eyes.from $5 to $100k+, every single one of them could be improved upon. The better built, the more time it might take to find a spot or point that can be properly improved,...
Have you ever reversed your opinion on a piece of gear?
"Have you ever reversed your opinion on a piece of gear?" Expanded and expounded upon? Yes. Reversed? No.
The "how many reviews it got" rule
No one with a lick of sense publishes a bad review. Or gets themselves into a situation where a bad review might result, due to the product not being up to snuff. Good review sites and such look into the gear quite carefully before the review is e...
Beware of new material claims - the case of graphene
Proper graphene is still a bear to produce. It is likely that many that tout ’graphene’ as inclusive...are touting a marketing definition. https://www.graphene-info.com/ (It’s an ’all things graphene’ link. It will help one get up to speed and up...
why do people feel the need to buy expensive cable
Good looking gear has always outsold high performance gear. "The male of the species is a visual creature", one might say. We have been asked multiple times to make our cables more ’pretty’ as they would be easier to sell, and more would be sold. ...
