Linear Tube Audio MZ2 Preamp - has anyone compared it to.......
Hi meiatflask,When I wrote my review on the LTA Micro-ZOTL for hometheaterreview.com I compared it to numerous SS and tube preamps.  My reference was the highly regarded Concert Fidelity reference, which retails for over 20K, that I sold off and m...
Tekton Double Impacts
Hey recluse,My reference SS amps, until the XA-25, were the XA-60.8 mono blocks.  So, for all intent and proposes they would sound the same as the XA-30.8.  The XA-25 does not sound like a series .8 amplifier for the details either read my review ...

Hey Guys,The Valvet V2 uses the same approach as the First Watt SIT 2, one transistor per side SET design.  The First Watt SIT 2 uses VFET transistors that Nelson had built for him which are different devices then what are used to in Valvat V2.  B...

Hi dbass,Thanks for the thumbs up on my review.  The Sistrum stand that I'm using is a three pillar design with a top and bottom plate plus spikes.  If it's not on their website, call Robert to inquire about this stand or if could offer you an alt...

Hello gentlemen,Thought you might be interested that my review on the Impact Monitors just went up on hometheaterreview.com this morning.  They are terrific performers and I purchased them for my smaller system.  As stated in the review, I believe...
Tekton Double Impacts
Hello gentlemen,My review on the Impact Monitor speakers just went up on hometheaterreview.com.  I nick named them the "baby DI's" because Eric was able to take the performance of the larger sibling down to a stand mount for smaller acoustic space...
Tekton Double Impacts
Just left Allan's (Aolprodj) home to listen to his new SE's and they and the total system sounded great.  All the details and transparency you would want, along with that aliveness and dynamics that make the music come alive, yet still being music...
Pass Labs XA25 amp?
Gentlemen,The Six Moon website review on the XA25 was posted today and comes to the same conclusions that I did in my review.  Sarjan's review is fun and very detailed in a wonderful way and does compare the XA-30.8 with the XA25 in his system.  T...

Hey travbrow,David Ten asked you the question I'm curious about, what amplifier(s) do you use in your system.  In my reviewing process I have driven the Tektons with SS (Usher 1.5) and tubes (AricAudio SET KT-88) and found that with either amplifi...
What Class A is better? SUGDEN FPA-4 or PASS LABS XA-25
Hey Sacresta,I have heard amplifiers from Sugden on many occasions and just reviewed the XA25 for hometheaterreview.com. The Sugden amplifiers are quite good in their performance and might compare rather favorably to Pass Labs XA.5 series of ampli...
Who has heard the new Pass XA25?
Hey bobheinatz,I own the ZOTL40 amplifier and its a great sounding amplifier.  However, for my tastes the XA25 does everything better.  Also, I drive the XA25 with the LTA Mico-ZOTL and love this combo.
Tekton Double Impacts
Hey craig59,As you know many amplifiers have XLR inputs, but really are not truly balanced designs.  The beauty of the XA-25 is it's use of only two transistors per side and the tremendous power supple which drops tons of current when needed.  So,...
