High Fidelity Cables CT-1designed by Rick Schultz
Leicachamp, I think there is much learning from experience in the HF cables. As I understand it the CT-1Es came about in doing phono cables using CT-1 standards. My guess is that the initial cables aren't selling much and will be discontinued. I a...
Why aren't new vacuum tubes as good as old ones?
Jwm, I sort of agree although there are great sonic differences among the NOS also. I think either the skill of those who were making the NOS or the QC then with many tubes discarded.

Tonereef, yes is the simple answer to your question. In my experience the Es took longer to reach their best than the originals, and the Ultimates took considerably longer than the Es. Certainly my early versions of the URs took a month to break i...
The best speaker you ever heard?
Probably the most striking speakers that I've heard were the new "Pure" series PureVox speakers from BMC. While I sat there, they just picked them off the display; placed them on the floor in front of their other big speakers; hooked them up; and ...

Ddraudt, I totally agree.
So......what do you use under your speakers?
Geoffkait, yeah a pump.Dayglow, this is not an election. I have a box full of tiptoes of various material and mixtures of them, string suspension platforms, various pucks, including ones that are solid carbon, like magnet pucks, springs with vario...

Calloway, me too.
So......what do you use under your speakers?
Geoffkait, canceling is a loosely used word. Reducing them at certain frequencies is the reality. Isolation is essential for the "magic" sound stage that I am hearing, but I realize that it is only improved isolation.
So......what do you use under your speakers?
Geoffkait, Yes it was the Halcyonics which electronically cancelled the vibrations sensed but only up to about 300 Hz. The StillPoints standoffs also work quite well.I can only imagine what music reproduction would be like were there no vibrations...
Still mystified by mega expensive power cords
Kiddman, enjoy your ignorance.
Speakers to hang on to for LIFE
I must admit that some twenty-five speakers ago, when I bought Infinity ServoStatics, I was set for life, or at least that I was satisfied. These were speakers that need frequent repair of the midrange driver, but if was the appeal of the ServoSta...
So......what do you use under your speakers?
I, too, had Symposiums and like about twenty or so other isolation devices, sold them or put them in a box in my storage room. There has been much tinkering with isolation devices made of many mixes of vibration absorbing materials. Some even work...
So......what do you use under your speakers?
Nobrainer, it seems to me that you really need to try solutions to your problem rather than following other's advice. If possible, I would include the StillPoints Ultra Fives perhaps on their old Component Stands and the Star Sound Apprentices. Th...

Kacz, remember that copper oxide is a terrible conductor while silver oxide is pretty good. Most of everything else you say is simplistic if not also wrong.
