Has anyone bought the OPPO 105 and has an opinion
Rockyboy, yes it is a modified Oppo 105 we are talking about not the 95 or earlier. I think the new output stage they put into the Oppo in this mod. really makes it exceptional.
Your jaw dropping cables
Ohlala, much depends on what this phrase means. Physically, my jaw has never dropped. Obviously, it implies a substantial improvement, meaning, of course, that the new cable must sound better than the old one. The High Fidelity cables sound comple...

Rockyboy, the Exemplar Oppo 105? What is SQ?
Has anyone bought the OPPO 105 and has an opinion
I own an Exemplar eXpo T-105 which is based on the Oppo 105. It has a tube analog amplification stage and is considerably better than the stock Oppo. It is considerably better than my old Weiss Dac202. I have been doing without any universal playe...
Your jaw dropping cables
There is a magic sonic hologram at the end of the tunnel that is thrilling when you hear it on perhaps one third of recordings. Cables are part of this. The only instance of "jaw dropping" relative to cables I have ever heard were with the first l...

Theaudiotweak. Tom, I am not being critical; I'm basically expressing my frustration that we don't know enough about this to have engineering predictions of what is best. I'm tired of trial and error.
High Fidelity Cables CT-1designed by Rick Schultz
Theaudiotweak, Ddraudt, and Geoffkait, perhaps it is my age and long experience with trial and error improvements, but I resent the time I have to commit to dampening, coupling, demagetizing, removing static interferance, etc. Heaven knows I have ...
Is the Oppo-105 with Modwright modifications
Dsper, once again I forgot there are two Rick Schultz. I heard the Rick of High Fidelity Cables system.
Is the Oppo-105 with Modwright modifications
Dsper, I have heard Rick's unit and had not realize that I was hearing an Oppo 105. I will have to take my Exemplar/Oppo 105 up next time to compare.

Theaudiotweak, at the top of my pile is the Harmonix cable support. True this may not be the best vibration isolator, but the enomous variation in performance between just the 18 kv isolator or no isolator suggest that static is a greater threat. ...

Theaudiotweak, but my experience is that even most dielectrics aren't any good. Static electric charge is probably the culprit.

Theaudiotweak, I think this is the opposite of my experience as you are using conductive materials, while I'm using non-conductive materials.

Audiolabyrinth, thanks.

Nic10pin, yes, I talked with him about all of this. He thinks rubber may be sufficient. I agree that it may be sufficient, but I would never be satisfied with it.

Yes, but as I said I am pretty sure they are out of business. Also, I can no longer find the brown top ones.
