Audiolabyrinth, I don't think they are in business. Try ceramic audio isolators on Google. There is a company that has a brown on top and white on the bottom isolator that is still available. I don't really know that the brown glaze is best but it...
Full-range recommendations
Simao, in New Mexico I have a 13 x 10 x 8 listening room. I use the LSA1 Statements close to the corners and have use the LSA Statement amp along with other amps and preamps there. But there is one thing that made my room a joy. It is the Zilplex ...
upgrade from Audio Research SP6C
Cygnus_859, Check out the Exemplar XP-2 preamp. I have never owned a preamp that even comes close to this unit.
A phono amp that beats the MFA Magus's phono?
Although you need to have balanced XLRs to us it, the BMC MCCI is far and away the best phono stage. I still remember the shock that I had when I first heard this piece after the twenty or so phono stages that I have had. Nothing was even close. R...

Nic10pin, no cables should ever touch the floor and the best isolator is glazed ceramic. The guy that used to own Rightway Audio used to argue also that only one isolator per cable should be used. This is pretty easy if you have a high single isol...
Has anyone heard the Stage III Kraken power cord
Lak, I doubt if I have heard it but in reality I have no idea what it is. Who makes it?
The best speaker you ever heard?
Ctsooner, I think we all wish we had access to dealers with speakers that interest us, but alas they are no more at least in most areas of the country. Even with Austin and Houston within a 100 mile radius of me, I don't have this.Even when there ...

Leicachamp, there is another reason for discontinuing the original CT-1s, namely that they aren't selling. On your other posting, I did use CT-1Es with another company's speaker wire for a while. They too were improved by having the Enhance cables...

Charles1dad, I have BMC gear which has the benefit of "current injection." But this improvement only works with balanced cabling. I had been using Exemplar LLC silver Portals with exceptional sounds. The HF CT-1 Es in single ended and without curr...

Audiolabyrinth, I care little about whether you have a system or not. On your question about whether there are balanced HF cables, there are none. I doubt there ever will be such. I can just imagine what the XLR would look like to have three sets ...

Jwm, I did the same thing for compact discs. I bought three on Oxford st. while in the UK two years before there were any discs or players in the US.
The Problem with Synergistic Research
Joeyboynj, I agree with you about surge protection. I had it once and was amazed at the sound once it was removed. All of my equipment draws on two dedicated lines, whose wall plugs are withdrawn from the outlets in storms.

Leicachamp, I use a full loom of Ultimate ics and early Ultimate Reference speaker wires. When I went from Ultimate to Ultimate Reference speaker wires, I certainly heard an improvement, but it took a long time to reach its best. I'm trying to rec...

Charles1dad, I think there are only three HF WGPCs out and only 8 Troy Signatures in the US. I guess that is pretty rarified company. It really is a shame that these are both expensive for either parts or labor. Miguel of Tripoint even got me to p...

Charles1dad, good but tough question. I would really have to do a long time A/B comparison, taking one out and allowing its effects to drop out, listen, and then do the same for the other. Also, I'm still experiencing improvement with the new HF W...
