Power Cables on Subwoofers do Matter
Must be a brand thing? No difference in the REL's to my ears. Seems to be same on the other forum, but with other brands as well.  That said, I DO have Nordost  Blue Heaven going to them. Nice blue cable going into Cherry finish subs looks bette...
Opinions & experiences with tube coolers
The ribbon on the Mapleshade thingies make good IC's. A little funky looking with their crude connectors, but competitive with pricier offerings. Tube add-ons? If one's ears hear benefits...it works-YMMV I have a few of the Mapleshade planks. Pr...
Martin Logan Summit X vs Impression 11A
"maybe just one more upgrade and then I'm through." tomcry6-if that's the case, up your budget and reward yourself with the  13's. That or perhaps a pair of Soundlab panels. Back on topic, it may a close lateral "ugrade?" Specs on paper may ind...
Best cost no object tube phono
Good grief reimarc! Might be helpful to start a new thread and keep the concern short and concise. I lost interest in reading midway thru.

"I'm ordering the table and arm. You can bet Darkness will get a workout." gpgr4blu- Congratulations. The times I've heard a Techdas , it's was a WOW experience. Enjoy it.  Springsteen's music can be "busy"-lot going on. Even the "best" pressin...
your opinion? Sonus faber Serafino Tradition vs the Focal Sopra 3
Focal will most certainly be more detailed. Some hear may hear excessive brightness. System/room dependent. YMMV SF will have a subjective "warm/romantic" personality compared. Have not heard Serafino  but MANY others, assuming it follows the SF ...
Phono preamp suggestions; can I improve upon my Aesthetix Rhea Sig ?
Congrats on the HW40. I'd love to upgrade my 10 year old Classic with one. You could get one of these. HW thought it was one of "the best" he's heard. Personally, I'd just enjoy your already fine setup. https://www.merrillaudio.net/jens-phonos...

"Then I put on the Springsteen Magic album to test a really bad sounding album. It was so sludgy, " gpgr4blu- Too bad you didn't bring a good copy of Springsteen's "Darkness" to experience on that Tech Das. "Streets of Fire" would have been mid b...

"As to his recorded material most of it was a mess as far as sound goes. Too bright for the most part." jfd11- agreed. If you're into LP's it's worth sifting thru the bins and finding an early press, since Springsteen's earlier stuff isn't in dem...
Help with Cartridge choice
musicmatters1206- If you can stretch your budget, there is a Rega P10, 2nd owner listed. That means bargaining power for you. Put a LOMC from the OC9/AT33 series on it, and you will have a significant upgrade without taking  on a second mortgage....

"I assume there are many things in the contract but I bet there are at least 2. He cannot record for release any song in the contract and he can still perform any song live for no or low charge." ibmjunkman-That would be one interesting contract ...
An Artist's Pinnacle
"Dirt was the peak for Alice in Chains, and Rocks was the top for Aerosmith. " roxy54-funny you should mention AIC-Dirt. A millennial had a T shirt with that album cover. I mentioned to him it was their  best, but he never heard it. "Toys in the...

Cool story artemus. The early albums aren't the best in SQ, but after weeding a few copies of Darkness, I've got a "stamper" level that's a great demo LP. Easy cheap bin find. Candy's Room, Streets of Fire, Darkness on the Edge of Town at  full ...

Perhaps the only the bad thing is to now expect hearing something in a corny commercial ad nauseum.
RIP oregonpapa
RIP Hard to believe it was over 6 years ago I was on that ART9 thread exchanging thoughts with Frank about my experience. He is in a better world experiencing the HIGHEST FIDELITY-beyond anything we can imagine.
