KLH Model Five
If Danny sez they're okay, that's a good sign. I give his opinion weight over most since he's qualified to make techie claims. His reveals of what's in top speakers(typically cheap parts) shows the reality of audiophoolery.
The birth of a new thread dedicated to sharing our newly-acquired "old" LP's.
Unintentionally adding to my  Jesse Ed Davis(JED) collection. Found his debut on a promo white label. The interesting thing based on Discogs fact is there were 3 promo presses, each from different locations. This particular press is the "Monarch...
McIntosh Group purchased by PE firm
"I’m not saying they’ll go back to 100% made in the USA of highest quality parts." It's delusional to think any American  audio company is making 100% American made/sourced product and thriving. That model was extinct decades ago. If anything, i...
Brian Wilson-American Masters
bdp24-well you can see it above-it's the entire airing. Likely you'll see nothing new. I just caught a few clips I haven't seen before. The host seemed a little too young(he reminded me of Elvis Costello)to add perspective with his conversations ...
Check this out, if you already haven't.
REL Precedent is the one to get if anyone wants FM ultima. The Marantz 10B you can use a the "backup" for stereo. Put the Mac MR71 in the office setup.
Does a REL subwoofer make the speakers' job easier?
You're thinking too deeply about it. This is audiophoolery-buy one and try it. There are plenty of happy REL users. The one that aren't simply didn't hear what they were expecting, and went with another brand.
Fact or misinformation?
"Spending Thousands of dollars to get a mono cartridge as good as the stereo one for 30 records seem a bit odd almost as bad as buying a reel to reel to play the 30 or so prerecorded tapes that exist." mijostyn- I guess the guys with disposable ...

Sadly, it was the owner of the retail establishment who gave me the no-go request. One exhibitor confirmed my thoughts as to why some wont. If he puts on a request that isn’t popular, he risks driving out the traffic in the room. I get it, so I m...
Fact or misinformation?
"i always have a fire extinguisher on hand when i listen to mono lp using my art9"  jss49- yes, the mono LP's I play on my ART9 sound amazing. IMO, best "value" cart that gives you an idea what the hyper carts do.
Fact or misinformation?
I was embarrassed for the guy. Didn't want to challenge him, since it's his setup. Wasn't even an exotic setup. The "exhibit" was lukewarm and he played the system way too loud to showcase the setup. I did get to enjoy it on other setups. I got...
Hot Rats
This Hot Rat wasn't much for music.  He liked the whine of a 6-71 blower.
I wasn’t sure where to classify this…
maverick3n1- Congrats for making it to the "finish line." Looks like you're locked and loaded for some reasonably comfy listening sessions in peace. Enjoy! I'm in Long Beach, and gonna check out  The Show today and listen to unobtanium setups ...

Moved from SoCal? Why leave  this expensive, traffic ridden, over crowed, polluted paradise? Guess being a native, I'm a little over nostalgic and defensive of my constantly getting weirder state.
Tube Socket Savers, why?
Unless you're pulling a tube in and  out constantly, and the tube socket is soldered directly to the board, there's isn't a need for them. Repeated tube swaps stress the solder joint, thus possibly breaking the connection, leading to an intermitt...
Energy speakers
Looks like the Energy brand is having it's "moment." I had a pair of RC30's year's back. To clarify the comment made about their pedigree: They were MIC(made in China) boxes-good, price point value boxes-nothing more. The RC line was MIC. Energ...
