Speaker Positioning
Here is the Cardas calculator that’s mentioned.http://www.cardas.com/room_setup_calculators.phpNot ideal for a living space since you will be placing speakers out in the room. Naturally, your ears will tell you what sounds best, but it does give y...
A new way of adjusting anti skate!
No thanks. If obsession drove me to buy something like that, I would hope  family and friends would hold an intervention.
What are the best tuners each company has made, and how you started?
I haven't had the privilege to own the mighty REL  Precedent, but one day? I had the opportunity to hear one just once! It lives up to the hype.https://pitchperfectaudio.wordpress.com/2010/03/10/setting-a-precedent/Not known to many outside the tu...
Mo-fi Ultradeck owners - popping noise from speaker upon power off
You found the fix. You always make sure the volume is down when powering off. I wouldn't obsess about it. Probably some weird electronic switch thingamajig phenomena. If you like it otherwise, enjoy it. I demoed one just as it was introduced. Nice ...

The value of a good FM tuner?......, now and in the future...
I can't imagine not being able to tune in the Classical or Jazz PBS stations on my Mac MR71. I do miss 70's R&R stations playing complete LP sides.Obviously streaming is superior regarding choices, but it won't have the magic tube sound of a 5...

Audio Research preamps EXCESSIVE OPERATING COSTS
Weird thread. Is this that new "what's the deal with ARC" complaint forum?Buy tube gear to listen to music. SS does just fine for explosions and special effects along with marathon viewing as mentioned.
Unbelievable 3-D imaging sound
"I like them more like 3 feet minimum, to preferably 6 feet or more from the back wall."Perhaps they are in a living space, with constraints?I would have those out somewhere between 4-6ft out as well. A pair of subs would be on the list too!Since ...
Cartridge reliability
Outside of a particular arm compatibility- the Audio Technica ART9 has a following here. https://forum.audiogon.com/discussions/pani-new-art-9-up-and-running?highlight=art%2B9There may some Linn owners commenting. I haven't seen any ART9 complaint...
Cartridge reliability
Based on your post, you're overthinking it. All brands have a bad experience or two from users. Most brands will have some degree of warranty to cover unexpected failure.

"The XLO CD demagnetizing tracks."I could be missing something I wasn't aware of! All my audio OCD is used up with record playback thankfully. I haven't gotten around to the marker tweak yet. The budget R2R DAC does wonders.
