Getting opinion on that level of table/cart is endless. Just buy it.There are plenty of positive online reviews on that model.Forget upgrades on it, spend on a better phono stage and cart later, if your ears demand more.

Using Different Power Tube Types Simultaneously (PrimaLuna)
I have a PL DLHPYou could mix and match power tubes, but you're not going to hear optimum performance of any particular model. One of those you can...buy why? The PL units do not require matched power tubes.
Pentode Power Tubes - Ultralinear vs Triode
DPHP user here.Check out the KT77 is you like the EL34 sound. To my ears they are a little more dynamic overall. Look at KT88 for more on the bottom end at the expense of less midrange magic. I have been using the old RCA 6l6G coke bottle in my PL...

Upgrading phono stage
"The soundsmith Othello ES is of interest too."cpdkee-I am using the SS Otello as a backup for my "proper" $1K+ cart. Good bang for the buck. Phono stage is critical to hear what the fuss is all about. Spend as much as you can tolerate on the phon...

Macintosh MR71 owners-anyone replace their stereo bulb?
Thanks for the response.I was afraid removing the glass was gonna come up. I've read about the disintegrating lettering. Guess I'll put that project on ice for now. Made the mistake of not having all the bulbs replaced when it was serviced last ye...

Great setup. How in the heck did Horace Silver lift that intro to Steely Dan's "Ricky don't loose that number" off the 1974  Pretzel Logic Album? I like my 1965 copy. It was an usual find-nearly perfect in a box very cheap, uninteresting LP's. It m...
