High Fidelity Cables CT-1designed by Rick Schultz
Courtesy of CT0157, I'm pretty sure I know what my last speaker is gonna be. My wife agrees, ...although I think we had different ideas on why it would be my last ;-)
Tonearm wiring termination---DIN, or RCA jacks?
I don't know precisely how it is configured in each case inside the arm wand, but several tonearm builders provide a one piece solution (clips to male RCAs) as an option. I know my Schroeder does. There are bare wires in the wand and then the oute...
Building the Audio Note Kit 1 SET amp...
Good news, Reb. Can't wait to "hear" your impressions of the amp w the new trannies in place. FWIW, I used a Wavac 300b with some much older "Ref 3a" monitors several years ago and never ran into clipping, although I don't usually listen to full r...
Funny and clever Axpona Ad
"that's why I never buy demo gear. You never know how much drool there is on it."Totally agree...And there might be some fingerprints on the speaker...ba da boom ;-)
Is my preamp useless?
Zd- I've never heard a Placette. It has some distinct features that would appeal to many (remote and/or input switching) but it's 2 - 2.5X the price of the LSA. Have you ever heard one? Regardless of George's proselytizing, it's a damn good produc...
What is you TIDAL setup?
Oh, and I agree, the search functionality pretty much...what's the word I'm looking for??? Oh, yeah, SUCKS!!!If you keep having drop-outs, make sure you don't have too many other processes running. I was having trouble w that at first.

I am using ickstream plug-in to Logitech Media Server, a Modwright Squeezebox Transporter player/DAC, analog out to my Doshi Alaap.
Replacing Veneer on ProAc Speakers
I'd look for a professional antique/furniture restorer or cabinet maker. Where are you located?
Is my preamp useless?
Slanski- Glad you're still here! I used to own a BAT and would never talk them down. The question of passive vs. active has been the focus of much of the discussion, engendered by your comments about how much attenuation you are employing, which i...
Tonearm wiring termination---DIN, or RCA jacks?
Not what you asked, so feel free to disregard, but if I were going to the expense of rewiring a tone arm, I would direct from cart clips to male RCAs that plug into your phono stage. Very low level phono cart output should, IMO, pass through as fe...
Is my preamp useless?
+1 Frogman. If the OP is still around, remember that Frogman is a musician who is intimately familiar with what real instruments sound like and is fully committed to maintaining the tonality, drive and emotional impact of a performance. I think th...
Newb on the loose
The Concerto v.2 is what I would call medium output. I would try the MC high setting or medium on the gain (Switch 2) which is incorrectly called impedance in the manual. If you don't have enough gain, you can try switch 3 but you may get too much...

John- I showed this to my wife also. Your wife and mine must be twins separated at birth. Although mine must have been the firstborn. It took her less than 5 seconds to say "he's looking at the speakers, not the woman!"
Funny and clever Axpona Ad
I'm not sure which is funnier, the ad or the responses. Thanks for the laughs, everyone.

+1 to all of the above. Add Kevin Hayes from VAC. If you're not put off by his sometimes less than warm "phone side" manner, add Richard Vandersteen.
