Budget Audiophile Looking For Amplifier Suggestions
McCormack DNA 1 or 125.
amperex 6922 pq white label tubes
About half of the "NOS" tubes I bought on ebay were not; some were not even marginally good when tested with a calibrated Hikock tub tester.  Stick w the known good dealers. Tomcy6 gave you a good place to start.
Anyone still using a Teres table?
Nrenter- Your monkey wood 255 w the lead-damped platter is still going strong chez moi!  Schroeder Model 2 arm, ZYX Airy2 cart.  I was wondering about a mat myself lately.
Subwoofer without hi pass filter
Yes.
Resale value
Short answer is no; if it's something I just want to try out I try to make sure it's priced right; if it's something I am reasonably certain will be a significant improvement, I only consider the "marginal value" of my increased enjoyment.
Tube Physics Question
In high school oh so many years ago, my buddy had a Sunbeam Tiger w the 289 Shelby Cobra motor. The car was faster but unfortunately, the driver was not better.  He nearly killed us, and unfortunately, he did kill the car!
Tapping on my table
The cones are coupling the TT to the cabinet, which is coupled to the floor (essentially unloveable) by mass loading.  Because the TT is coupled to the cabinet, when you tap on the cabinet, the vibration is transmitted to the TT.  As table jockey ...
Heat/Efficency of Speakers
To make this a bit simpler, Class A amps will typically generate the most heat because they draw full power all of the time. Class AB amps will generate less heat but the amount will vary depending on whether they are heavily biased into Class A (...

May I Please Hear Your Quad 57s or Open Baffles?
I'm in central CT (near Hartford).  I have some DIY OB speakers; you're  welcome to come up and hear them anytime.  Just bring the beer, wine or other beverage and your favorite tunes and we can have a listen.
Superb Service
+1 markus1299.  Neal has always been very responsive and generous with his time.
Samsung buys Harman for $8B
and wouldn't it be nifty if they bothered to make cell phone audio actually something you could listen to and not cringe?Wouldn't it be interesting if them made cell phones that did not explode...Just sayin...
Superb Service
Good to heart but not surprising.  Dan has always been good to his customers.
SET amp comparable to First Watt SIT 1?
Per atmaspere's comments- I run 95-96dB open baffle speakers in a moderate size room (14'x23'x8.5') and acoustic/american/fold/country music and found that it was very easy to drive a 7-8w 300b SET or a 10-11w EL-34 SET into that higher distortion...
Where is the significant point of diminishing returns on hi-end turntable?
Anyone else wonder whether hometheaterreview's (apparently the owner of hometheaterreview.com) opinion about digital vs. analog media is in any way influenced by the fact that home theater software is only available in digital formats?
