I do not think Wadia is out of business. I read the original investors wanted out, so they are reorganizing. Will be back soon.

I use the Ikea and agree with Alexc. I don't store them in the same room, because my furniture is much higher quality than Ikea. 
rca to xlr - best way?
Deepblue has a point. Balance is just that; not the same as unbalanced. Just using an adapter may cause problems and even degrade sound some. Good Luck

Remember, this guy said $1500. Most of these suggestions are over $2,000 for decent used and he hasn't even gotten cables and interconnets yet, or a decent power strip.
