Power Conditioners vs. Power Cables Nice posts, Zaikes....
Should reviewers post their hearing test results? Paul, I agree that the HF rolloff could become the red herring...like tweeter extension, maybe. But seeing the undulations between 100 and 10k, for example, could give readers an idea of whether a reviewer has a midrange dip, a low-treble "hardness...
Dedicated power lines-getting started Phew.Let me see if I can make sense of this....Firstly, I chose to use Belden 83802 as a 110v delivery cable (dedicated line) well before seeing or hearing of anybody's use or designs! That was over 2 years ago. I thereafter used leftover cable to...
Power Conditioners vs. Power Cables Stehno,You're indeed correct re keeping the digital line as far removed from the low-level analog one as possible. If you're system is still plagued by AC noise I'd try installing a dedicated line on the CLEANER phase of the house wiring, if possi...
Has anyone done any worthwile tweaks to their... I haven't but I'd treat my sidewalls before wholesale radiation treatment with felt donuts. You might NOT want to affect the power response of your tweeter just yet.If the tweeter high-pass is a crap capacitor than playing with better ones, or add...
Need your opinion on NADC320 BEE, please When friends ask me for advice assembling affordable systems, my choices for amps are: NAD (320BEE or 370), Audio Refinement Complete, then you're on your own (I chose Pass Alephs).
Stands to go with B&W Nautilius 805? Plateau in Canada makes a beautiful four-post sand-fillable Target knockoff for $200! Called the V23 I believe, for its height in inches.
Should reviewers post their hearing test results? I too suspect that the 20-36Hz material comprising your test wasn't reproduced correctly. A low freq loss is highly unlikely. However, if you're a normal middle-aged male you probably have a rapid falloff above 12-14kHz. Pretty normal.Certainly pu...
Dedicated power lines-getting started Chris, Here ya go again. I wrote to you personally to end this arguing, and instead you question timelines. I write to you as an ally, and you bite my ass. Sigh....Your request of me to not reference your designs in my ads is puzzling. Unless I'm ...
Dedicated power lines-getting started Not sure if my previous post got through, Audioengineer, but you have just described the "outside-ground" version of the Belden 83802 dedicated line we've been talking about. Thanks for the idea about the plastic conduit. If this works then the arg...
Electrocompaniet EMC-1: let's talk? I received the "UP"grade mod parts: 24 diodes and three power supply electrolytics, and dutifully installed them in about 2 hours roundtrip.First impressions include a fleshier, more natural soundtstage with no "edge-carving", however pleasant, th...
Verity Speaker Parsifal Encore Hi celery. I just realized that this thread is about the Parsifal Encore, so I'll try to start a thread about this upgrade now. See ya there. You should probably repeat your post there to kick it off. Thanks.
Dedicated power lines-getting started Chris, Lighten up!"pay for the designs?" Are you kidding? All one had to do (as I did), was look through a Belden catalog for a fat-gauged all-Teflon shielded cable, and there they were: 883802, 3, 4, and 6. I installed my 8380x lines two and 1/2 ...
Tiny bubbles do not make me happy, Help. Yeah, works like a charm. There's a competitor's model for REPEATED use, but it's an ungodly mess to use. The one-shot/hole $6 ones are pricy but reliable. Won't work on cracks, of course, but DOES seem to stop bullet-spiders from spreading...maybe.
Tiny bubbles do not make me happy, Help. You can buy a windshield "bullet" hole filler syringe device which pressurizes a glue into the bubble. Costs about $7 at auto supply stores and Wallmart. |
