@tablejockey  "Tiger Walk" is fairly unique in Ford's output.  Although I enjoy the the material very much, I can't listen to it because of the production values. IMO, the rhythm section is so soul-less and robotic, they needn't have used real mu...

@bdp24  I never saw James Burton on TV-- my first astonishing exposure was on the song "For No One" on Emmy Lou Harris' "Pieces of the Sky" album. At that point, I had absolutely no idea that a "Country" player could play in such a "jazzy" manner...

@tylermunns  Yes-- B. Paisley is an exception to many on the New Country scene.  I favor older stuff, myself-- Jerry Jeff, EmmyLou, Rodney Crowell, Willie, etc.

@tylermunns  G. Campbell, Jerry Reed, Roy Clark, B. Paisley are indeed all fine pickers. The ones actually doing the playing on "New Country" records are of course session greats like Brent Mason-- not the so-called artists.

@desktopguy  "1 - Eric Clapton is a great blues guitarist. He was on top a very long time for good reason 2 - Eric Clapton is also aging gracelessly and saying dumbass stuff about vaccines in particular. If you go back and look for it, he always...
Tonality of Jay's Transport?
@mosler666  Many thanks for the clarification. While I've not measured the bass extension in my room, I'm confident it does not remotely approach 18hz.

@bdp24  I wholeheartedly agree with your sentiments about "show offs", which is a syndrome that appears to affect mostly Rock players. There are Black Soul/R&B Tele players we are surely failing to list, here. The Tele was a favorite (prefer...
Intergrated Amp suggestions for B&W 805d4
I wonder how many threads have accumulated since this forum's inception started by B&W owners trying to make them listenable. . . I was one, way back when.

@bdp24  Kudos for mentioning Kenny Vaughan-- very tasty player, indeed!   You neglected to mention the Hellecasters-- John Jorgensen, Will Ray and Jerry Donuahue. Their "Escape from Hollywood" CD is one of my favorites. They are not just technic...
Tonality of Jay's Transport?
@kingbarbuda  "I don’t think it ads any color to the sound that I can tell. But there is a lot of factors at work here." Agreed-- it's never merely about one component but how it behaves as part of a specific system.

@mosler666  Thanks very much for your comments, including the warning about its sound prior to burn in. I don't have much flexibility in terms of speaker placement so I hope that's not going to be a sticking point. This is not an issue I've enco...
Does Anyone Buy Schiit for the Sake of Schiit?
If someone has been sold a faulty component and the manufacturer has failed to make it right, the buyer is fully justified in complaining. But to phrase a question as though it's simply soliciting opinions when the language employed already  sugge...
Does Anyone Buy Schiit for the Sake of Schiit?
Seems to me , this type of thread is always going to attract guys who have a grudge or else an unfounded bias or have heard something negative somewhere . . .   they're happy to pick up a rotten banana and hurl it whatever the brand in question mi...

@jafant  Bet you thought I'd never make up my mind!  ;o)
