How to proceed?
@gdnrbob I mentioned Jay’s transport and Hegel integrated. I don’t think speakers are contributing to the problem but they are Silverline SR17.5 monitors. I've tried various scenarios, including slaving the Aqua to the Hegel's clock, which made ...

@wharfy I have difficulty imagining Hendrix moving into harmonic territory that could accurately be described as Jazz but who knows? If I recall correctly, there was at least one session done with horns and he and Evans has spoken about a collab...
2024 Audio System Wish List
Hopefully, I can figure out why my system is plagued by sibilance and do a better job of component matching.
"The Mystery Of Sound Is Mysticism"
@mijostyn   Others here have said what I might try to say and said it better. The" problem" is that speaking of It will not make It real for you. I do not know how to bridge this gap.
"The Mystery Of Sound Is Mysticism"
If "person A" regards mysticism as frivolous ianity, at best and "person B" has had vivid experiences that fall within the realm of "the mystical", where is there space for dialog? I don’t see it. "person A" is liable to view "person B" as anythi...

@tyray @stuartk, Thank you for giving @mahgister his props! There was no need at all to delete your post: I often find myself in agreement with @mahgister and am not shy about expressing it. I deleted my initial post because I wanted to say m...

This thread reminds me of the parable of the elephant.

@mijostyn  As @mahgister asserts  "... it can be much more..." The mode of perceiving the "more" could be described as mystical.  Merry Christmas!
"The Mystery Of Sound Is Mysticism"
@mijostyn There is little if any mysticism in music Mystics would disagree!

Hegel H390 DAC
@audphile1 It’s odd that the Simaudio transport with your Aqua DAC didn’t have the sibilance as pronounced as your Jays transport. Yes. This initially led me to assume the Jay’s was the problem but, in fact, when running it directly into the ...

@alexatpos  Not 100% sure but that that might've been his final recording session.
Hegel H390 DAC
@audphile1 I had the PSM-156 and sold it. You can definitely try the Puritan. I highly doubt it’s your problem though. If you’re determined to make it work I would think that both the transport and the dac have to be looked at as a pairing or i...
Hegel H390 DAC
As I don’t know how long it might take to borrow something from the audio club, my plan is to order a Puritan PS 106-DC (the best Puritan unit I can afford, currently) and return it if it proves ineffective.
