all pf these speakers sound very different with different components attached.  
I want to buy new speakers for 50,000 and see it used for 30,000, what should I do?
Listen to them before you do anything else.....make sure the speaker works as intended

I have an Ortofon Winfield cafrtrdge that needed attention.  Soundsmith did a great job with new stylus....I believe it sounds better than new (maybe I was more accurate in installing it this time)

You say you have a dual pivot point arm.....If it is a VPI, just screw in or out that pivot to exactly straighten the arm.  
Really want to salvage this deck, help needed!
have you researched after market cueing devices....there are a few.  
Looking at these specific preamps give me your opinions

I check that my VPI is in proper alignment and in years have not adjusted anything......what are you people adjusting??   Mine is rock solid   The arm has 2nd pivot attached....the speed is fine....etc......

I have an upgraded Superscoutmaster....runs well.   Disappointed in VPI in general.  It was an interesting company when Harry was in charge....oh well
