If you need support, how you gonna call?
A friend told me JBL DD67000 is actually very bad speaker, is it true?
Actually, the big JBL is a wonderful speaker.....VPI uses it for the definitive test for their highest end turntables.
What is DC offset on the AC power line?
My amp activates its protective system, and shuts down if it sees DC offset.
When and what was your last significant equipment upgrade?
The newest addition for me is different speaker cables.   I've spent years with oh so many brands....high priced, low priced, and everything in between.... the ones I have now just work.  Ease, extension, clarity, etc.  Don't give up your search u...
Continuum Caliburn - really the best TT on earth?
To ME, the Panamara is too doggy...not really a Porsche. I have a sports model with the Burmeister system....except for the bass (which gets obliterated at anything above 20 mph), the Bose is just as good.
Help wanted: Bass!
Fireplace!!!!!   That's it.  Your lows are going up your fireplace.Block your fireplace, close the flue, etc.   I had an attic fan in my house...no lows until I got a powered louver for the big hole in the ceiling.
SS to valve
Switching from s/s to tubes may not be a step up....  Modern day amps from both camps meet in the middle of sound expression.  Make sure the amp you buy is the one that pleases you most, after trying out others.
First "audiophile" system, now what? Suggestions for best "bang for the buck" upgrade?
Before I would spend any money, I would contact John Rutan at AudioConnnection in Verona, New Jersey.  He's extremely knowledgeable, and willing to help all us audiophiles that don't know how things interact, what the next step should be, etc.  It...
basic passive preamp
Passives don't work nearly as well as active....If you insist, build one yourself.....all you need is a volume control, some wire, and box to put it in.
To Power Condition or Not to Power Condition?
I've tried many power conditioners in my system, and although they changed the sound, there never was an improvement.  I use Ayre equipment...in the circuit they have addressed power conditioning with something they call Ayre Conditioning....don't...
remove tubes before moving cross town?
why would you not....its such an easy assurance against breakage.
Is it possible for the center image to drift from lp to lp?
I found in MY room, some frequencies are more/less reflective which alters the sonic stage a bit.  Depending on your tolerance, you can search for the truth in your room, but I just listen to the music.
cartridge recommendation
are you sure your setup is good with the Dyna?  Before a new purchase, I would do all I could to get the cartridge right.  Perhaps loading it more...perhaps a bit tail down...perhaps a bit more/less vtf....etc.
Acoustic Treatment of 'Unique" Room
..the problem is really the ceiling.  I too have 22 ft ceilings...it took me years  to get it as "right" as it is now...and even with the help of Richard Vandersteen himself.  Home speakers are designed for "regular" 8 ft ceilings. If your rented ...
Which integrated amp would you pick?
Have you looked into the Ayre units?   That would be my choice
