Buyer wants copy of passport?
I forbid you to send it.
Reducing Background Noise On Records
I suspect your cartridge isn’t aligned as good as you can get it. My LP’s are almost as quiet as my CD’s. Check it all again...I’m sure you missed something.
What’s in your system today that you also had 10 years ago?
I guess almost everything......Ayre V1, Ayre K1 (with all the mods) Ayre C5xemp, VPI Superscoutmaster rim drive, Classic platter (new) 3D arm (new), 2nd pivot (new), Ortofon Winfield (newish), Vandersteen 5A speakers. ...and still making music.
Technics 1200g vs Rega rp8, VPI aries, avenger, Basis 2000, Linn LP12 etc. Can it compete?
They are all fine tables....I would choose the VPI because of its great customer service and the belief the company will be there for as long as I would need them.
Opinions on Possible New Set Up
Have you given any thought to a state of the art Headphone system?  It would probably give you more satisfaction....
advice for my clear audio analogue upgrade path
DH - there is no way your path can lead to satisfaction....only a depleted wallet.   Wait until you can afford what you want and then forget upgrading.....just enjoy.
Class D Technology
The fact is that its too new for Class D's.....  the sound is just not there.   There is a class D that can compete, (Merrill - but it costs many thousands)....but for now, they are just not musical.
Looking to upgrade a Dynavector 20x2L on a Scoutmaster Signature
The Benz LPS MR is very much better .....upgrade to a 3D arm with 2nd pivot.....sublime.
Lyra Etna SL vs. Transfiguration Proteus + Koetsu Urushi
Hard to believe you don't want to stay with the LPS.  Check with Soundsmith, be sure you don't just get different but not better sound in your quest.
AMPLIFIER BLOCKS
Try it all....what do you have to loose?  Put it under preamps, CD players, et al.    It really works   B&M baked beans works as well....you very well might like that sound better.

g_   I've tried 100 lb amps on 3 tomato cans (on their sides) without creating pizza.   I position them at various angles to discourage rolling the amp.
AMPLIFIER BLOCKS
Tomato cans can support a lot of weight, but of coarse one has to apply reason.  (I know it sounds weird, but it works....as does everything)
Who makes budget speaker cables which are truly “good” or “exceptional” in quality?
..another fan of ClearDay shotguns.....if you contact Paul, he'll most likely send you an audition sample for free.  Take advantage of his offer.
AMPLIFIER BLOCKS
Everything you do will make the sound different.  I use Audio Points, but have used Cardas Blocks, et al.  Try the little cans of tomato paste in their side...point them in different directions to prevent the amp from rolling around....(this is se...
Wrong way to clean a stylus!
...dip your stylus into a small blob of Blutak......(recommended by Soundsmith)
