| There's a lot more bass in a 6.5" driver than most of you think I have to agree the woofers in my beethovens are claimed 7” but are more like 5” and they’re tuned to play bass, limited spl for sure but clean and solid. | |

| Ported versus sealed speakers: is one type better? Probably depends on the room. My room offered no extension from the ported speakers so deep bass was mia until I went with sealed speakers. I would think active speakers would have the benefit of sealed without the downside. | |
| Upgrading from Sonus Farmer Venere 3.0 Meridian powered speakers used are capable of high spl, low distortion and excellent bass. A used pair of 5200se or 7200’s around $10k will be amazing for the money then a 218 controller to feed them and you’re set. | |
