Speakers 10 years old or older that can compete with todays best,
Pretty sure the KEF Blade design is 12 years old I love them.
Active Speakers Don't Sound Better
I didn't read previous posts so apologize if I'm repeating someone.  The appeal of active speakers for me was the frustration of buying passive speakers and bringing them home to find they sounded completely different! Dealers will say the speaker...
Has anyone tried to launch a for sale ad here, lately?
Many buyers want to use paypal for their security, add that to the fees on this site we're at 8% now we add shipping and the prospective buyer is better off buying a demo with warranty from the local shop! Agon really is just for subscribed dealer...
Persona B Amp Recommendations
A local dealer featured the persona line a couple years and my favorite pairing was the Pathos Logos mk2. I listened to the Anthem str integrated, STR amp/pre, a 60 watt lumin int. peachtree, and a couple others I can't think of. For those that th...

The Horror
I know a couple shops local to me that know how to set up a system from $1000 to $25,000 and have me awe struck by the quality of sound. When yoy go to these shows pay attention to the set up, placement, toe in, treatments, distance from boundarie...
Non-fatiguing speakers in $10K range?
Check out Dali speakers!  I thought the 2 tweeters would make them sound bright, but in reality they just have a really smooth transition from the mids to treble.
Non-fatiguing speakers in $10K range?
Reads like you’re looking for the perfect speakers. $10k on the used market should get you there. I bought an old pair of VA Strauss speakers for $2k that were so much fun despite lacking resolution expected from new speakers I nearly kept them. S...
Dirty little secret of Pedigreed, decades old Speaker line - no one will address
??? For YG owners it must be refreshing not to have their 5 or 6 figure speaker  become obsolete a year or 2 after purchase.  I listened to YG at Axpona a couple years ago paired with Gryphon and I heard nothing that made me think YG was special,...
Usher Mini Dancer 2 or Q Acoustics Concept 500 - Marantz PM Ki Ruby
My BE 20 DMD's used the same tweeter and were highly detailed without sounding bright so I would agree you're just not finished with placement yet. Regarding break in...I did have 1 pair of speakers, the KEF R105/3 that seemed to take forever for ...
Usher Mini Dancer 2 or Q Acoustics Concept 500 - Marantz PM Ki Ruby
Congrats, Usher speakers are competitive with anything you want to put them up against at a givin price point.
What if a high end speaker measures really badly?
I listened to a tone generator app off tidal that did around 10 tones between 20 and 1000 hz and I was surprised at how some of the midrange tones sounded SOO much louder while measuring the same 70 db as the bass tones did. Then in the 1khz steps...
Mcintosh C49 C55 C2700 C2800
I've been using the c49 to drive my MC611's and do consider stepping up to the c2700 or c53 for the tone controls, but the kit is so good as is I struggle to get motivated to change anything!
Your thoughts on best audiophile speakers in $10,000 neighborhood?
Congrats on your speakers!!! I never ’got’ the Vandy sound, I find the mids to be a little strange, however every show I’ve been to the Vandersteen room is among the most popular and I seem to be among the minority regarding their speakers.
