McIntosh Announces Mc451 Dual Mono Power Amplifier
@ surfmuz   Interested to hear your review. As an owner of a pair of 901's, I have no doubt you will love the sound and experience of the 451's. There's a huge difference in power between the M8's and 451's however. I'm curious to learn how this d...
Worth upgrading from MC611 to MC901?
I have not owned the 611's, but the 901's don't run as hot as you would think. The SS portion of my 901's never even run warm to touch. The tube section will radiate heat you can feel with your hand a foot away, but are far from anything I conside...
Could we get a group of all IRS Beta owners?
@ervikingo Beautiful room and set up!! Very nice. When I ran the multi-Beta set up they all ran through a Legacy Wavelet that I had Legacy set up specifically for the system. It worked well, but the best sound I've experienced through many many se...
Could we get a group of all IRS Beta owners?
@ervikingo Added another system pic of current Beta set up. It’s a second system on the sidewall now. In my experience, these don’t have to be off the wall very far. 2-3 feet has worked well for me. I’ve tried as much as 6-8 feet in prior set up w...

Could we get a group of all IRS Beta owners?
@ervikingo Thanks for the info.  Does anyone have experience running the Betas with a later gen Infinity Servo w/ xlr? Is it possible?

Still running a set of IRS Betas. I can agree with a statement made in another thread that they keep getting better as your front end gets better. The mid/hi panels sound sublime with Mac tube amps and a tube pre. I'd love to find a way to upgrade...

OP @ Believer There's a lot of info here that may be relevant to your question. If you own or are looking to own these amps and are looking for info based on the specifics of these amplifiers, I can help. These are a significant investment and VE...
McIntosh MC901's internal active crossover & speaker's internal passive crossover
I own these amps, and they are all you think they would be. Extremely versatile and easy to work with. When I purchased them, I ran Infinity IRS Betas. The mid/high panels with the tube section, and the bass towers with the solid state. I did not ...

Recently put together another system using Classe components for my IRS Betas that have been for sale for a while. Running the Classe 6 Preamp with two CA100's mono on the highs and a CA400 for the bass, and am very impressed with the quality and ...
