2Ch amp Quandry..
Check out Odyssey Stratos amps at odysseyaudio.com. Read the reviews there and look at their pricing. Then determine how the Stratos may compare to the amps you list above. Not to mention the money you'd save.
Can any one tell me if a progressive scan dvd play
Psychic, how'd you type the '¿?'? I just did a cut and paste to put it here. I've never seen this before. And yes 2-channel makes life much easier and better sounding too. -John
Best value power condtioners....Used is ok
Thanks, Brf. My experience is a little different. I started out with one LC-2 with a 20 amp IEC connector. The LC-2 was a big improvement over the Cardas Reference power cord that came with my amp. Then I inserted an LC-1 into the chain by connect...
Best value power condtioners....Used is ok
Brf, yes, you won't hear much about Foundation Research. I bought one LC-1 and the LC-2 new. But I did buy one LC-1 used here on audiogon about 5 months ago. The guy had 2 used LC-2's and 2 used LC-1's and the prices were quite good.Yes, I am awar...
Can any one tell me if a progressive scan dvd play
I'd recommend getting rid of the 5.1 surrounds, amps, and cables and just work on a good solid 2-channel system. Not only will you be able to more easily afford the equipment and sound you desire, but your system will sound probably even better, a...
Jacintha "Autumn Leaves" on XRCD2 is incredible
Garfish, you might also check out the following XRCD's from FIM:Flamenco Passions (flamenco guitar and nice cello)Over the Rainbow (a sax that'll make you jump) I think XRCD may be better than SACD but it's close.
Can any one tell me if a progressive scan dvd play
Dbx, the sony dvp s9000es is well worth spending some time trying to find a used one for maybe $500 or so. The picture is first rate and the sonics of SACD and Cd will get you about 8/10th's of the way there. There was a nice writeup of the s9000es...
Can any one tell me if a progressive scan dvd play
If you like the dvd player and it has a switchable progressive scan / normal, then buy it.I have a Sony DVP s9000es progressive scan for my non-hdtv and it's a beautiful picture. Not to mention it plays SACD and CD quite nicely.
Jacintha "Autumn Leaves" on XRCD2 is incredible
Craig, yes, Autumn Leaves is quite good. If you had a really good and fast amp, say a McCormack DNA-2 Rev A, you will notice on track 10 the piano solo on the back half of the track is out of this world. You'll need to listen closely a couple of t...
subwoofer setup problem
My Aerial Acoustic 10T's reproduce down to a stated 26Hz and probably lower. My Triad Platinum 18 inch sub's lowest cutoff is 50Hz which is the setting I use. The volume is quite low on the sub and perhaps due to it's placement in the room I do no...
Aerial 6's lighter in the low end than the 7b's...
I'm not a boomy bass fan but I am a fan of good solid musically defined bass. In my opinion, there's simply too much musical information in the lower regions to simply overlook regardless of the type of music you listen to. I own a pair of Aerial ...
bypass outlet and hook wires directly to romex??
Thanks, Twl. I'm sorry Bwhite, but I couldn't help but feel I was now put into the position of defending Home Depot's zip cord of which I've never dabbled with in my system. So I got a bit defensive and lashed out a bit. Please accept my apologies...
bypass outlet and hook wires directly to romex??
Bwhite, I perceive thou art pretentious and self-elevated. At least that part appears clear. And perhaps that you had a philosophy 101 course. I find it funny how your power cords are ranging in the $2k plus price range and yet you are performing ...
So how many people are using subwoofers
Gold's statement is just un-bright. He just condemned every powered subwoofer from $30k down to $100 without any jusification except that he had a bad experience. Therefore, with that logic, it should be safe to assume that Gold no longer brushes ...
Best value power condtioners....Used is ok
Brf, Tmoore did say "Used is OK." Therefore, if you believe that the Foundation Research in-line conditioners are as good as you say, then how much better are they at a used price? I could see that as a "best value" which is what Tmoore is looking...
