Subwoofer doubts: crossover setting for 60hz speakers
You would need a PC (not sure if REW works on a Mac, bet it does, it's a Java app), and the microphone plugs into the standard USB port on the computer. REW works just fine on a Mac.  Absolutely fantastic tool for subwoofer integration.
Speaker Cable trial
Another very satisfied customer.  As others have mentioned, Paul is absolutely fantastic to work with and his cables are outstanding.  I replaced Acoustic Zen Satoris with ClearDay double shotguns and am VERY pleased with the change.  Highly recom...
Consideration of amp change
Another vote for ModWright... great company and outstanding products.
Suggest affordable cable options
another vote for ClearDay cables.  I replaced Acoustic Zen Satoris with ClearDay double shotguns and am VERY pleased with the change.
Preamp... Solid State or Tube
@lalitk - are you running very long IC's?if fully balanced is a must, perhaps take a look at Atma-Sphere.  no HT bypass, but that's easy enough to work around... just run the main outs from your Krell processor to any analog input on the preamp an...
Subwoofer and 2 channel system - need to use crossover at all?
lots of great information here.i’ve consistently found high passing the mains superior to letting them run full range, but as always, YMMV.  delaying the mains was also revelatory, as described in the article above.
Rel S/5 or JL Audio F112
Mike, I've never owned a REL sub, but have owned several others (Velodyne, Vandersteen, SVS, JL Audio) with my Wilson speakers.  The best I have found is the Seaton Submersive F2 that I am currently using.  Absolutely remarkable performance across...
Monitors for Pass Labs 60 INT
if you're willing to buy used, you might be able to find a pair of gen 2's in your budget.  certainly you could find a pair of original duettes for well under your budget.  i've got a pair of the original duettes and they are spectacular.
Preamp... Solid State or Tube
I've never heard the Ayre pre you're considering, but I did own an Aesthetix Calypso for a while.  You might want to look into Modwright preamps.  They are spectacular and should do well with your power amp (and dac).  While well below your stated...
Monitors for Pass Labs 60 INT
I would agree with your assessment of pass labs and raidho - i've owned both.  perhaps the wilson duette?  not quite as electrostatic like (fast) as the raidhos, but a tremendous speaker.
Amps which are Great, but either Unknown or Underpriced
In the great but underpriced category, here’s another vote for the Job 225. It’s a great sounding piece that plays WELL above it’s price.

What was it about the X1's that you objected to?
Subwoofer SVS SB13Ultra vs JL Fathom F110V2
Rythmik also has a loyal following - I was considering the F15HP when I purchased my Seaton F2.  I'm sure it's another fine option, but I have absolutely no regrets nor desire to try any other subs since integrating my F2.  It's an amazing sub.The...
SVS to JL Audio
JL Fathoms and SVS are both fantastic subs - I've owned both.  They are both extremely impressive, especially for their size.  I don't think you'd find one to outperform the other to a significant degree where 'tighter / more articulate bass' is...
Subwoofer SVS SB13Ultra vs JL Fathom F110V2
one other sub to consider, especially if you have a large room, is Seaton Sound.  I've owned subs from Velodyne, Vandersteen, JL Audio, SVS, and now Seaton, and find that my F2 outperforms all of them.  Absolutely nothing wrong with the others, es...
