Finally took the Bryston 4B Cubed plunge
The studio2 speakers are really incredible and can be had at bargain basement prices on the used market now. Smaller and much easier to drive than the Salons which would require every last drop out of a 4b and then some. The Studios are 85 to 90% ...
Mark Levinson 532h
Except for when I have owned class A or tube amps, I never turn them off. No problems in 30 years with a wide variety of equipment.
Plugging ports in revel studio 2s
I actually did try this a few months ago to my Studio2s on the recommendation of a JL Audio tech. The reasoning being, that it was impossible to truly match the phase of the subs to the mains at the crossover point if the port was producing a thir...
Jl audio fathom f212v2 noise and hum
I think there’s a ground switch on the back panel, try that
Please give me advice about an ARC VT 200 amp
I agree with j_stereo, that 3 years does not seem long enough to pose a problem for the caps. The 6922 tube bias thing is however, extremely real and they are a bit of a pain in the a$$ to bias, requiring 2 digital multi meters, some expertise and...
JL Audio F110 Fathom pops...
A big plus 1 for the great Randy Wagner, he really helped me out with my older F112. Also impressed with Jl out of warranty program.
Please recommend a PreAmp for my 5.1 home theatre system
Another vote for the Anthem AVM 60. Nice unit for both h/t and 2 channel.
Has anyone made the jump to $uper High end and were disappointed?
What “facts” are you referring to? Your posts are devilishly hard to follow....
Need suggestions for pre/pro and amp for "hybrid" audio/HT
I just upgraded from an older Parasound C2 processor to an Anthem AVM60 and have been extremely pleased with the results both for 2ch and ht usage. Depending on the speakers, the amplifier choice may be less critical. I’m not sure how difficult th...

30k is probably the sweet spot for a high performance system if is well balanced and only has 1 or 2 sources. An excellent digital front end (analogue of comparable quality would likely drive the price upwards) a good integrated amp and speakers s...
Parasound Halo Integrated.
I have heard only good things about both the Auralic mini and the Bluesound two for entry level streaming devices. Either of these with your Parasound and you'll be cooking.
System Upgrade Recommendations
Why not sit tight, you will have a $4k budget in six months. Why not use that to buy a better integrated amp. At this price range you might do better than you could with separates
Subwoofers.....Leave On/Off?
I have two fathom subs that are always left on as is the rest of my system (except TV) which has 12 channels of 200watts class A/B each. Never had a problem yet. Power consumption is small change really
NO Side Speakers in an atmos system?
I would agree, best improvement is a better blending of the surround channels into a larger sound field
Recommend me a warm sounding 5 channel power amp
Don't know the NAD, but I traded out my Audio Research gear for an A-52 amp and I love it, very warm (not dull) and can listen to it for hours. I suspect its biased fairly heavily into class A as it puts out a fair amount of heat.
