Just how much do speakers suppose to vibrate?
Weights may or may not work. The best outcome would be to absorb those vibrations so the whole room isn't affected. Since good speakers, or the best speakers cabinets use composite cabinet walls, thus combining the beneficial effects of two differ...

There is a pair of Wilson Benesch ARC's for sale on agon. They are awesome.
Stand mount choice
I loved my DC8Towers, was a bit conceded the DC10 with the 10" woofers would be to heavy in the bass. If you like your mid range you might consider the DC8's
Just how much do speakers suppose to vibrate?
The wave energy from the back of the drivers can not be destroyed. An example of how this will affect the sound…..If the cabinet has an area that is 100 times larger then the driver then if it vibrates at only 100th as much the sound coming from t...
Do we really need anything more than 8" woofer and 1" tweeter for medium size room?
InnaWhat is sufficient bass? Will the room vibrate? Will it be lightening fast? will it be fat and slow? For me it just needs to be satisfying, I am not trying to impress anyone I just want to enjoy listening. Bass is so tied into to room response...
Do we really need anything more than 8" woofer and 1" tweeter for medium size room?
InnaThat is the key isn't it. The goal for  me is to enjoy the music. To hear a high resolution system with no edge, no noise, not analytical and produced in a way that is sounds like it is playing music for me and not just a big expensive PA syst...
Loudspeakers have we really made that much progress since the 1930s?
Seems like a lot of discussion about drivers and slopes. How about cabinets, materials and resonances.

Do we really need anything more than 8" woofer and 1" tweeter for medium size room?
innaYour question regarding the 8" woofer is perhaps more complicated the suggested. If you are talking about a two way speaker then it might be more advisable to find one that has a really involving midrange and nice smooth highs. If you have thr...
Loudspeakers have we really made that much progress since the 1930s?
Johnk I was not responding to your comment. Not at all. Just my view on the pathetic development in speakers. Fancy metal drivers. Shiny and bright, some even zircon coated but where are the tests that these sound good, let alone better. My though...

I see a lot of companies reveling in the fact that they have really advanced drivers yet they all use mdf cabinets. No cabinet advancement whatsoever.
Why are so many companies like harbeth making old speakers designs and charging thousends?
JakeI am on the same band wagon as you are. Three drivers in an MDF box and they want thousands and thousands. Metal drivers, ribbon drivers, they are trendy now. Every year they " improve their crossover" upgraded parts, " hold me back". Cross ov...
Tonearm mount on the plinth or on Pillar ?
Those tables are so so cool looking. Love it.. A separate pillar would give you the option of a longer arm but the larger base with the arm mount in it looks like it makes the whole base large. I want one.
