Speakers in the 5-6K$ region & their components Hi RoyYou are so right about speakers built with .50c tweeters etc. Take a look at the Wilson Benesch Square 2. Nice floor stander. The mid/woofer is about a $500 piece manufactured in house, literally So much engineering not only in their drivers...
When will we ever hear turntables demoed fairly? brucegelYou are pretty close to it. That is one big reason you see so much stuff being sold here on anon. The reviews are great, the ads look cool, gear has no distortion according to the measurements. Should sound perfect. But wait, the bass is f...

Why do I keep torturing myself with remasters? I suffered through the same torture. Same results. So many great reviews but the reviews sounded much better then the albums.
Need Small Bookshelf Speakers With a Big Sound Take a listen to the mm de Capo's. Very big sound and lots more. Take a look at the threads on them.
Wilson Maxx II problem I would agree with many of the comments above. One thought I had would be to disconnect the woofer to eliminate the noise. Do the same with the other speaker. You might find you like the sound. If so you could find yourself listening to them for ...
What in the world is going on..... Sounds like you have not invested enough money into your system. $75K is a drop in the bucket. A drop in the manufactures bucket, not your bucket. Spend, Spend, Spend, Spend.
Just how much do speakers suppose to vibrate? The more massive a body the lower it's resonance. The lower frequencies are the more difficult they are to deal with. geoffkait has a good point that many speakers are over dampened. Some very expensive are way too massive.
Upgrade my DAC or buy more weed? audio freak or czarivey perhaps we need a separate thread about weed and disregard the misinformation RE: audio gear. Sounds like there might be a " need " for it.

Upgrade my DAC or buy more weed? I heard them at the CES show in about 2004 and they look so cool and sounded good, can't remember the speakers. They never got traction however.
Upgrade my DAC or buy more weed? audiofreakMy last post was directed at Phoenix and Sheriff " Bust you Nuts" Arpalo. Arizona has some great towns and great places to live, not sure I could keep from killing myself with the politics of that state. If I did it would be with your re...

CD ripping Well here is a thought. I am really new to digital ripped music. First I was ripping to my music only dedicated mac book. Had to purchase an external ripper for it then figure out JRiver software. The one of my distributors recommended a product, ...
Upgrade my DAC or buy more weed? Well if I lived in Arizona I would smoke a hell of a lot of weed. They couldn't grow it fast enough. How long have you had that Gromme amp and curious what tubes that uses. |
