Recommendation for Cartridge for Technics SL-1200G?
Also a low compliance cartridge on SL1200G is not a good ideaAgreed. Since I mentioned 'lower compliance' in my post (I'm not saying @chakster was referring to my post) I want to clarify that the Sensitive Sound ART Dark cart is medium-low complia...
Recommendation for Cartridge for Technics SL-1200G?
The ART9 is a really good cart. For a comparison or simply to experience it, I would gladly arrange for you to try a Sensitive Sound ART Dark cartridge (which I import and distribute). It is a little lower in compliance and perfect for the SL1200G...
Does it make sense to run a 3k cartridge on a 2k table?
Spacearm (iirc) is a fairly light effective mass arm. So you'll need to be careful to match up well. And I mean not just run the numbers through a calculator but also search user experience.
Slight increase of tracking force = Big Improvement
If you listen to vinyl every day I would suggest revisiting setup once a year. Things change with carts over time and little tweaks to all the settings are important....
Cartridge issues need suggestions
Throwing away could be silly. Most good cart repair pros will asses its condition for free or low cost once you send it in...

RIAA, Questions only please
At this point it would interest me to hear from designers (of cartridge transducers and phono electronics) about their opinions on measurements and 'what matters'. So far frequency response (and corrective eq to achieve it) is the primary topic. T...
RIAA, Questions only please
I'm interested in vinyl replay. If this thrread is to be useful, imo, the purpose of the discussion needs to be better defined. Is it theoretical? A discussion on why what was decided 70 yrs ago was?Is it to better replay technology and implementa...
Audio Additives Stylus Force Gauge inconstantcy
It doesnt matter how many zeros follow the decimal. Accurate and repeatable scales aren't inexpensive. Sort of like spirit levels. Buy one for a dollar or buy one calibrated for cnc machines for many hundreds. No free ride here
Vinyl vs high def audio i.e. 24bit / 96 or 192khz
I always suggest an 'attention test'  if you listen to your digital casually how long till you think about work or the day or reach for your phone?. Now for when you listen to records? For me there is an obvious difference. Yes analog wins for me. ...
