Experience with Sensitive Sound MC cartridges @chakster I would have thought, given you are in Russia, that you would pick up the phone and ask Roman 'who he is' directly. Of course it is easier to just assume and post accordingly. Have a great night! Hope your (awesome) Luxman decks are play...
Experience with Sensitive Sound MC cartridges I have a bias so won’t comment much more, however:@chakster don’t dig it? Cool. But it’s a bit rash to make negative assertions on a product you have NEVER seen. What you see from pictures is (for the large frame carts) a magnet array and a field ...
Experience with Sensitive Sound MC cartridges @chakster True, reputation building takes time. I agree with you on this point!Regarding meteorite...Wiki 'iron meteorite'. Then you will see the general class we are talking about. From within this general class comes the material Roman has come ...
Experience with Sensitive Sound MC cartridges It is fairly obvvious but just to mention:The Splash/Art series are an easy match to most modern tonearms in terms of weight and compliance, however the two 'large frame' models ( Y12 and T8) really need a higher mass arm. Roman does use/ like the...
Experience with Sensitive Sound MC cartridges @chakster Just to clarify a point from your post: The meteorite material referenced is not stone, it is metal, and used in the generator not the body. Its easy to research these metals. Also basically all high end cartridges are made by an 'enthu...
Copper, silver, or gold MC cartridge coils? One thing for sure is there is a lot of bent area for a given mc coil winding...so if that plays a role for crystal boundaries copper vs none with gold...Roman who designs and builds the Sensitive Sound carts I distribute recently switched to gold...
Recommendations for a modestly priced analog system Seems like a good buy. Any details on the phono? Oh and is the 103r in the stock plastic body?
Pro-Ject Extension 12 to SME Model 10 Give this a read: its pretty rare to see tables compared that are so far apart in price but its pretty well written ( I have two out of the four tables myself ):http://zero-distortion.org/analog-shoot-anamighty-sound/
Pro-Ject Extension 12 to SME Model 10 A better table is *very* important when upgrading. Some say most important, I just say a critical element of the 4 pieces ( table / arm / cart / cable ).As to options, not sure what the SME 10 goes for but iirc around $6k with arm no? If so there ...
What about Uni Din? Its a mess this vinyl thing that we love :)Sure most carts are a series of imperfect connections, and even with a really good protractor its hard to see everything perfectly. So in comes software. In the end these tools get us in the zone but we u...
What about Uni Din? I have used the pro version of that protractor for quite a few years now. The Uni Din can be really good. I like it on my FR64S, but in truth I haven't developed a metric for when to use it or not. Try it on for size :)
Need a sut for Hana ml You will need to add a parallel resistor to lower (numerically) the load for your 1:10 SUT. http://www.hagtech.com/loading.html
Tonearm suggestion for Garrard 301 schedule ll oil bearing? @mijostyn Audiocreative initially made the Groovemaster out of aluminum and titanium concurrently as a choice for the buyer. They dropped aluminum as it was clearly inferior. Your point is taken ’in general’ but in this case the smart folks at Aud...
Tonearm suggestion for Garrard 301 schedule ll oil bearing? The Groovemaster is fantastic. I use them (and caveat - I sell them too). I would say the arm is quite neutral, meaning won't 'add' warmth etc.For heavy / low compliance carts its about as good as it gets in the price range.Btw the SME 3012 series...
Recommendations for a modestly priced analog system You can straddle the vintage and new worlds with something like the PTP Audio Solid 12. A very sensible re-imagined Lenco...If the budget risestowards $10k there are several excellent modern direct drive tables. I'm in the trade and sell one ( STS... |
