What are some high impedance cartridges? Benz LPS is 38 ohms due to using a non-magnetic generator core. I'd be more inclined to switch SUT and look for low impedance carts ;)
What is the “World’s Best Cartridge”? Regarding field coil ps variables @atmasphere has posted in the topic. Maybe he can help us here ( yet again )
What is the “World’s Best Cartridge”? Your Atlas *if* dialed in right is a pretty special cart. Yet for some people the worlds best might be an original white bakelite Neumann DST from 60 years ago. For another whatever Audio Exotics has at the top of the price list :) Certainly ca...
I have a Teres 245 setup for Rega arm. Question re Origin Live arms Could add a few $$ and get the Groovemaster III
Aidas Cartridge Announcement from Aidas Cartridges: Regarding customers of Aidas Cartridges that purchased a cartridge prior to 2020 and now need repairs or service, they must visit the official Lithuania factory website and find an authorized dealer. An...
Need advice for a replacement phono cartridge If the cantilever was bent by dusting there is a chance it can be replaced without further motor system ebuild. Any way, my opinion is have it rebuilt. No you can't have a factory job done so why worry just get the best rebuild you can find....
Cartridges, Vinyl, Stylus, Turntable Decent cheaper cart ( not endorsing selection per se ) will be fine if setup on good quality / good condition tonearm and aligned with skill.
Long headshell required @koala can you achieve any alignment type with standard head shell, even if cart must be twisted a bit from parallel with head shell? Could be that would work ok despite not being ideal.
Long headshell required If the arm base is "so large" making it difficult to locate closer to platter, then the P2S distance will be longer not shorter.
Recommended photo preamp with Klipsch and 300b amp? Pretty much nailed the choices in that price range; I would add the Hagerman Trumpet to the list. You have pretty high sensitivity speakers so need to watch the noise floor... Are you using lomc or mm?
Are You Happy With Your Phono Preamp? RADA Precious phono is a contender too. Discussed on a forum, HERE , copper version is in the price range...NVO Spa is mentioned in the thread. just an fyi Disclosure: I represent RADA
Phono stage options - balanced with XLR both input and output... @lewm "Some use a transformer or a chip to simulate balanced input or output." Would you elaborate on this? Why is a transformer an emulation? Of course if the OP meant fully differential from input to output that is a very different thin...
Phono stage options - balanced with XLR both input and output... AudioSpecials Phonolab is balanced input and output. And really good. Different price point though. As much as I like balanced I wouldn't focus on it when trying to find the best phono imho. Solypsa Audio
Phono Stage to complement an Ayon Triton Integrated tube amplified @mcole01 it's always easier to get specific on phono pres when the cart is also is identified, or at least the general direction anticipated for cart choice :) From the Ayon website I see input sensitivity rated at 1v to full power, just a pie...
MM, MC, or MI cartridge +1 @dynamiclinearity Tonearm and phono preamp both make or break it with carts in general but lomc in particular... |
