Audiophile demographics? That's more than a lot of stores
Audiophile demographics? @gg987 - My wife sees how careful I am cleaning and organizing my records with the jackets, folders (in many cases), sleeves, boxes (in some cases) and wouldn't want to go through the trouble, and probably never wanted to put the stereo on while ...
The cost of LP's and CD's - an observation Early 80's music was very good. Seemed to me that music group quality went down at just about the time CDs were becoming popular. Maybe just a coincidence. The Columbia record club were sending out cds for ridiculously low priced groupings trying ...
tough choices First world problems....
Audiophile demographics? I think it is just that they are uncomfortable or disinterested (many of them) with the technology complexity and demo areas. Some of the high end rooms look like physics labs. Less women go into STEM. If you told an audiophile demographic survey,...
turntable recommendations Enjoy! Obviously the best thing would have been to compare both of them in your home with the same cartridge, which sometimes is hard to do. As long as you have a reputable brand (I've heard a little about Feikert and it is carried by the most kn...
Constant noisy tubes maybe go solid state? Yeah, like solid state
Constant noisy tubes maybe go solid state? Hey @aj523 - sounds like you have a case of upgradeitis. Summer of 2020 is only 2 1/2 months ago! And I saw you changed cartridges. I guess that makes sense that you reevaluated your phono stage. Tubes are noisier.Soon you'll be looking for a new ...

Question for Rega P8 or P10 owners Forget the Rega product - heard it is not available for the P8 or P10. I've heard of Black Diamond Racing, Symposium and Townshend. Feet, shelves or a combination. Your help is appreciated. One twist - I would like to keep the height of the table ...

Most hyped turntable, tonearm, and cartridge? Agree with rcronk 100%. Exceptions are appliances for the home like washers dryers and refrigerators and water heaters. They are not made as well as ones 25 years ago.
turntable recommendations @stantheman - could you have put a Rega RB 880 arm on the Dr. Feikert? I am very surprised that you didn't think the P8 with that arm didn't sound better than the RP6 with the RB330. That may have been something to think about. Sounds like a nice ...
Used phono preamp options - feedback requested BTW - you probably will have a difficult time finding a used one, especially with the Insight LPS. I had to get mine after the fact and installed it myself (with Ron's help).
Used phono preamp options - feedback requested Sutherland 20/20 with LPS would exceed $2K. You can get a Sutherland Insight with the upgraded Linear Power Supply for $1750 list. If you can swing the extra $900, the 20/20 has great reviews also.Ron Sutherland will talk to you himself (very nice... |
