Speaker choice without need for deep bass Here are a couple LCR designs I think worth considering given their extra midwoof drivers, and I think both offer a return policy. Best of luck. https://ascendacoustics.com/products/cmt-340se2-mini-tower-pair https://soundapproach.com/rbh-55-i...
Beginner in the Audiophile World – Looking for Streamer & Streaming Service Advice Avoid iFi — no customer support and subpar software, and theStream Box has reliability issues so avoid that too. I’d also recommend an Innuos streamer for sound quality and its outstanding Sense app and Qobuz or Tidal depending on which music cat...
Parasound JC5, Pass X250.8, Coda No. 8 V2 Recommendation All great amps. You might consider this McCormack DNA 500 and save $$$. Best of luck. https://www.usaudiomart.com/details/650201477-mccormack-dna-500/
Speaker set up for more than 1 person Listening in the near field won’t really work as you’ve already found. I’d move the listening chair(s) back four feet or more if possible and toe the speakers in only as much as you need to get a good center image — just experiment but this shoul...
Picking speakers 3000-5000 budget I also checked out ATC.I like the scm80 and scm 100,the latter out of my price range. Most reviews were very good.Going to check these out some more. I also was looking at the ProAc Response DT8 There is a pair used for 2500 on ebay. Anyone have...
New buy, no return policy @gano Well, if you wanna count Nissans as “French” vehicles then we’ll just agree to disagree. Peace out.
What are your opinions of DSP's for speakers I’m a bit mixed on this. As a purist I don’t want any extra processing going on in my system and would prefer using room treatments to mitigate those issues. But many years ago I got to hear a six-figure system in a dedicated and treated room us...
Picking speakers 3000-5000 budget Since you live in northwest Indiana I strongly agree with @jeffbij you should definitely take the time to go visit a few stores in Chicago. I used to live there and there are several dealers like Holm, ProMusica, Saturday Audio Exchange, etc. tha...
Picking speakers 3000-5000 budget Take a look at ATC. They can do rock/dynamics without breaking a sweat and can also do the audiophile things and nuance with other genres, but they do require a robust amp to get their best. Best of luck.
Picking speakers 3000-5000 budget The speakers you say you like are literally all over the place sonically so would help if you could narrow down what specific improvements you’re looking for. In addition to that, what sound characteristics are most important to you? Are you loo...
Cryo treatment? I demoed Voodoo cables, and I found them to be very smooth especially for silver cables. Not sure how much the cryo treatment contributed but it sure didn’t hurt, and I was impressed with them. Just my experience FWIW.
New buy, no return policy @gano Yeah, nothing says French cars like Nissan. 🙄 Relatively few Nissans are even made in France, and none of those are sold in the US so your argument is bogus. Bugatti is registered, headquartered, and built in France regardless of who owns ...
New buy, no return policy they still sold more than US sold American made cars in France. @gano No. There are no French cars sold in the US except for a few Bugattis. That’s it. Renault, Citroen, and Peugeot are non existent in the US. Then there’s that the EU slap...
Chesky Audio LC1 bookshelf speakers - a sonic bargain! As I listened, Sandy Gross (founder Polk Audio, GoldenEar..) walked by and remarked they sounded great. Should be mentioned he was involved in the development of the speakers.
New buy, no return policy French don’t like to service even each other, to put it mildly, let alone foreigners. This attitude coupled with poor reliability goes a long way toward explaining why France utterly failed at selling cars in the US. |
