Best Bookshelf speaker 1300.00 budget If you are willing to spend 1800 you might want to also consider the Evolution Acoustics MMMicroOne that I think sells for 2000 without stands. I think Ref 3A is a good choice too though.
Best Bookshelf speaker 1300.00 budget I think you'd be hard pressed to find a better imaging speaker than the Joseph Audio RM7xl, but you'd have to buy them used to hit your price point. Best of luck in your search.
Speaker Choice If you can stretch or find a deal the Magico S5, Joseph Audio Perspective, Vivid Audio B1, Thiel 3.7, or Revel Ultimate Studio2 should scratch your itch for detail. More in your price range are the Thiel 2.7, Vandersteen Quatro, Usher CP 8571DMD, ...
Rythmik F 12 vs. SVS SB12-NSD vs. ? Personally I'd try to run dual subs since you have a good-sized room, and the dual subs can help even out bass frequencies and be run in stereo if that's something you might want. SVS offers a special where you can get two SB12s for $1150, which s...
The usual suspects: S1, Cirrus, Tempesta, MMM1 I have owned Soliloquy 5.3s and currently still own 6.2s, and the speakers I lust after are the JA Pulsars perhaps paired with a couple good subs. If JA is a flavor du jour it's been an awfully loooong day (same for Devore). They continue to refin...
Speaker cable suggestion I really like your idea of the SR Tesla. They would definitely be on my short list as well. With nothing to lose I'd try the Grover Huffman cables too.
Speaker cable suggestion Acoustic Zen Satori is very natural and neutral sounding in my system. Haven't heard the Holograms but they might be a good candidate as well. Best of luck.
Best High Efficiency Speakers for full bass tone Perhaps something like the Coincident Technology Total Victory V might work? I also wouldn't rule out trying a pair of high quality subs at some point. It's pretty amazing what they can add to most systems, and the newer DSP hardware/software avai...
Can you guys recommend some decent in-walls? I looked at them a while back for a friend and seemed like the Paradigms were at a good price/performance point. Definitive Technology also had some interesting products worth looking at. If you're willing to spend a little more there's Revel. Bes...
Anthem AV receiver better than Denon as a preamp Paraneer, when you heard the Anthems were they in your system or somewhere else? If the latter, what equipment were they hooked up to and how was the room/setup? Did you hear the Arcams in the same setup or somewhere else and with what equipment? ...
Anthem AV receiver better than Denon as a preamp I for one am not a fan of Denon receivers at least for stereo listening. Can't imagine the preamp section alone is anything special either. I'd be very surprised if the Anthem wasn't a meaningful step up. Any way for you to demo one at home?
Need a monitor while floorstanders in storage Interesting about the Aperions. Just noticed someone selling Silverline Preludes -- the newer version -- for $500. Tough to beat that I'd think, but seller won't ship so you'd have to be able to get to New England. Best of luck in your search.
B&W 801N and Bryston match Agree the tweeters can potentially sound harsh, and not sure Bryston would help there. That's probably why you see B&W speakers frequently paired with Classe amps, and I think you might have a good idea looking at McIntosh as well. Best of luck.
Upgrade Path? Differences between sources are important but tend to be smaller in magnitude than from pre, amp, and speakers. For that reason I'd upgrade the integrated first to get the qualities you're looking for and then deal with the source. A better integr...
Need a monitor while floorstanders in storage Not sure what sound qualities you're looking for, but the Silverline Minuets are great. |
