Can You Trust a Shipper? (UPS, Fed-Ex, etc)
I always use FedEx, never UPS.
Integrated Amps
I wouldn’t add a separate power amp — the preamp is too important so I’d just get another integrated.  What specific improvements are you looking for?
PS Audio IRSV selling
+2 @roxy54  Yeah, especially for that price it’s not worth having to live with the constant fear of what the hell to do if any of those many, many drivers fail.  No thanks!  Have a feeling Paul will be living with those old monsters a lot longer.
NAD T777 (1st gen) - worth repairing?
Older/outdated AVRs depreciate rapidly so likely not worth the cost/hassle to repair.
critique my setup -- weak link? best way to improve?
Your biggest limiting factor is placing your speakers on a sideboard.  The best/cheapest thing you can do by far is get your speakers on some stands and position them properly.  Upgrading speakers would be an obvious area for significant improveme...
New speakers for 15*12 room powered by Lamm 1.2s?
Giving it some more thought, if I’m you I’d strongly consider doing a trial of one of the excellent tube preamps out there today as you may find that alone could breathe new life into your excellent Thiels. Preamps are critical IME, plus it could ...
New speakers for 15*12 room powered by Lamm 1.2s?
Given you’re coming from Thiels I’d search out Joseph Audio, ProAc, Sonus Faber, Usher, Vandersteen, Wilson, Rockport, and Acora while you’re at the show. Enjoy!
Upgrade to PS Audio Direcstream Mk1 and Mac Mini?
I’d have to think adding a good pre like the Lamm would bring significant improvements, but definitely something well worth a try.  You could do a trial of the new Spatial Audio Raven preamp that’s getting fantastic reviews.  I’d keep the streamer...
New speakers for 15*12 room powered by Lamm 1.2s?
What’s your budget, and are you looking for new or used?
Ayre CX-5 / CX-7
I agree with @v-fi and would be very wary of buying a CD player that’s 15+ years old and would certainly check with Ayre first to see if especially things like the drive mechanism/laser can be replaced at reasonable cost if/when they fail.  That s...
What do I need?
If you’re gonna now have additional speakers for HT the cheapest/easiest thing would be to get an A/V receiver with front L/R pre outs that you can feed to your stereo preamp and power the other speakers.  If your stereo pre doesn’t have a HT bypa...
Next step up on the streaming food chain?
I think you’re on the right track looking to upgrade your streamer and will very likely close the gap significantly between your streaming and analogue performance.  The MU1 would certainly be a big upgrade as would anything from Aurender from the...
Are REL the most Musical Subs?
I don’t know, I just perused the SVS site and the prices seem about the same as REL?  Maybe I’m missing something… The SB1000 Pro is $599 and goes to 20Hz at -3dB.  The HT/1510 is $1699 and is -6dB at 20Hz, or you could go with the S/510 with s...
which power amp or integrated for Totem Element Fire v2's?
+1 @zlone  “Did not seem to match” doesn’t tell us anything so no idea in which direction you wanna go.  More specifics needed for a more meaningful recommendation.
Are REL the most Musical Subs?
Sure the REL is a bit better, but it’ll also cost you multiples the price of an SVS sub for similar bass capabilities, and for a HT application you really need to think if spending double or triple for the REL is worth it.  Plus for HT low frequen...
