Best multi channel amp and processor good for 2 channel listening. I'm going to be blunt here. I wouldn't even consider driving the $19k Otellos with two channels of a seven channel amp or a prepro in the name of saving space, or anything else for that matter. To me, speakers of that caliber deserve their own g...
Hihat Question Another drummer here. How cymbals are reproduced is also very important to me as part of a system's performance. I can't listen to a system where cymbals are highlighted, distorted, or muted. Of course this is heavily recording dependent, so I'...
Best multi channel amp and processor good for 2 channel listening. I'm confused. How can you use two sets of speakers (SF GPs and Otellos) in the same system? Are you physically going to swap them them out for HT and 2-channel listening?
Compact DAC + Amp Yeah, I'd have to agree with @oddiofyl that this is a bit of a tough ask at that price point and not be a mismatch in quality between speakers and electronics. Two that might work and are available here now at a bit over your price target are the...
How would you introduce tubes into this SS system? @jackalope -- any updates? If you haven't already, try pulling the Josephs 4-5 feet into the room if possible, with the speakers aimed at the outside of your shoulders. Magic starts to happen there.
Integrated amplifier search Coming at this from a wife's perspective, she probably just doesn't want something that looks ugly or like a typical audio component staring back at her. I get it. In this vein, I'd look at the Devialet 120 or Micromega M100, both of which are a...
can anyone help me........ @kennesawjet -- what's your budget?
Looking for an inexpensive low power amp with exquisite sound Check out the Valvet E2. A bit over your price range but may be worth the stretch. https://www.audiogon.com/listings/lis98ea7-valvet-e2-single-ended-class-a-amplifier-new-review-check...

First system Due to constraints I have to put my speakers on a bookshelf with limited space behind them. You have my sympathies. Best of luck with that.
Looking for new speakers What would you be looking to improve upon over the Maggies, and what aspects of speaker performance are most important to you?
Down to 2 speakers & I can't decide, ProAc D48R vs Spendor D9 Yeah, with your music I'd be looking at ATC SCM40 or 50 or something from PMC like this...https://www.audiogon.com/listings/lis99760-pmc-mb2s-studio-monitors-with-bryston-4b-sst-pro-amp-mult...The speakers you're considering are great speakers, bu...
Some Amplification Recommendations This modded McCormack DNA-1 would tick all your boxes if the guy will ship from Canada (which should also drop the price if you're paying in US$). Great amp. https://www.canuckaudiomart.com/details/649480631-mccormack-dna1-deluxe-edition-rev-agol...
Joseph Audio RM-33LE vs DeVore Gibbon 8, my experience. I don't know those cables, but I will say based on this review they seem like a much better fit for JA. It'll be very interesting to hear your thoughts on this pairing. https://positive-feedback.com/Issue14/synchestra.htm
Joseph Audio RM-33LE vs DeVore Gibbon 8, my experience. I believe Joseph uses Cardas wire in at least some of its speakers. They would certainly be warmer sounding than Nordost. Personally I would not use Nordost with JA. Acoustic Zen, Morrow, or Analysis Plus may be some others worth trying. Hope ... |
