Use of Denafrips Iris 12th DDC with computer
Thanks for the follow up and glad the Iris made an improvement.  The great thing is when you eventually get a streamer the Iris will still be a valuable asset that will continue to pay dividends.  Nice purchase.
A list of efficient speakers at ~$5K a pair.
I am searching for speakers that would make a lesser demand on a power amplifier than that of my Fritz speakers, which I do consider an easy load. Just out of curiosity, why?  Are you sensing your amp is straining or do you think the speakers a...
Don’t buy used McCormack DNA 1990s amps
@wturkey  Just be aware that if your amp has the original input board it’s very likely to fail at some point.  Hope yours holds on for a long time. 🤞

Do you have an opinion on machine learning and AI replacing musicians and actors in the generation of new content? … and its effect on culture.  Well AI is here and will only increase in its presence.  But it’s a mistake to think it will become...
Which Jazz Artist’s Influenced your Musical Taste?
Charlie Parker. Miles. Chick Corea.  John Pattituchi.  Victor Wooten. No drummers?  Dave Weckl.  Steve Gadd.  Brian Blade.  Jack DeJohnette.  Vinnie Colaiuta.   Etc.
DAC for Aurender N200
@willywonka  Yeah I was aware the clock in the streamer is basically a non issue for USB, but the info on the TXCO clock was interesting.   That said, my Iris has a TXCO clock and I still notice a significant improvement although I’m using the i2S...
DAC for Aurender N200
Thanks @audphile1 I stand corrected.
DAC for Aurender N200
My understanding is if you use USB then you don’t get the benefits of the excellent clock in the N200, which would seem like a waste.  I believe @audphile1 has mentioned the best connection to use is AES/EBU with the N200, but not sure on that but...
Please talk me out of buying the Avalon Eclipse
The other thought is, if for some reason they don’t work for you, you could probably turn around and sell them for a nice little profit given what you’re paying for them. Just another probably obvious thought FWIW.

A conversation we should be having as a society is the nature of ownership in a changing world. For decades, it was blissfully simple: you purchased a LP or a CD, you owned it, you could play the music on it at will, sell it, give it, whatever. I...

Yeah for $700 it’s hard to see going wrong.  From John Atkinson’s review they lend themselves to brightness quite readily so hopefully you have partnering equipment that won’t trigger their brightness, but their imaging/sounstage abilities appear ...

The Reference 3a mm de Capo meets those specs, and they are excellent performers.  If you’re open to used you could step up to the Taksim tower model.  Best of luck.

@agwca  If you’re considering adding streaming my strong advice is to just do it.  I too went into it kinda reluctantly about five years ago and my only regret is that I didn’t do it much sooner.  The freedom to explore worlds of new music, much o...

Their customer service is reputed to be awful if that’s important.

Yes. A paid download can be stored on your HD and copied, moved, and backed up however you wish. You own the file. @cleeds  Thanks.  That’s what I would’ve thought but wasn’t sure.  It makes total sense.
