Oppo DV-970HD digital out question
Thanks @yage That’s a good thought and although I thought I tried that I’ll give it another shot.
A preamp recommendation
I’ll look into Bryston BP26, but I’ve found past Bryston components on the sterile side, but it’s been decades. Bryston’s “sound” has evolved quite a bit over the years, and while I agree their older amps were a bit thin and sterile sounding I ...
Suggestions for RF wireless headphones
I think the easiest recommendation would be to move up the Sennheiser line as there aren’t a ton of options in the RF headphone space. The RS175 is probably the best choice in terms of sound/features/price and a huge step up over what you have now...
Bel Canto C5i Integrated Amp OR McCormack HT 3 Power Amp
I don’t understand. One is a stereo integrated amp and the other is a 3-channel power amp — apples and oranges. What exactly are you looking for and what’s the rest of your equipment?
A preamp recommendation
I think the Bryston BP26 might tick all your boxes and possibly save you $$$. It’s as close to a “straight wire with gain” product as I’ve heard. Or, put another way, it sounds like a passive preamp with balls. It’s like a clean, clear, open windo...
Good but cheap bluetooth speakers
I have this — sounds great and looks good too.  https://audioengineusa.com/shop/wirelessspeakers/b2-wireless-speaker-2/
Do you consider cables to be a "component" of your system?
Obviously pretty things sell, don’t have to be a rocket scientist to realize that.   Yeah, that must be it because if you think the crappy black PCs that come with most equipment sound good then the rest of us surely must be wrong and kidding o...
Class D Integrated Amplifier Recommendations.
Agree with @twoleftears that a GaN-based integrated might well be worth waiting for.  There are a couple LSA integrateds being introduced by Underwood Hifi, one of which looks like it could be available soon… 5) 200wpc GAN Integrated amp with DAC...
Do you consider cables to be a "component" of your system?
The only reason a good quality manufacturer isn’t involved with this whole cable BS thing is just that there’s no science behind it no consistent reality so essentially it is BS.   Maybe you can then explain why none — NONE — of the electronics...
Do you consider cables to be a "component" of your system?
A decent piece of equipment will have decent cables end of story. I know of no manufacture of quality product that sells that product with junk power cables. On the contrary, I have a hard time thinking of a manufacturer that sells their produc...
The review wehave been promising is up
In my opinion the difference is that dealers/manufacturers like Duke, Verdant, and Atmasphere seem to be objective and don't always push their products on members. They offer genuine assistance, even if it means steering you down a different road...
Results with Audioquest Niagara 5000 / Dragon HC
Why not try something like this instead?  Read the reviews and I think you’ll find it does the things you’re looking for, and at less than half price used if it doesn’t work out you can likely just turn around and sell it for little/no loss — kind...
The review wehave been promising is up
I agree with above that the review out of context of direct comparison is pretty useless.  Virtually all TAS reviews are like this.  Never bother to do comparisons, and frequently they don’t even list the equipment in the reference system so yo...
Think Its Possible To Order Tubes From the Ukraine?
@carlsbad What Kool-Aid are you referring to?
The review wehave been promising is up
Typical TAS crap review. He says it’s the best he’s heard then conveniently never mentions what else he’s heard much less compares it directly with a comparable competitor. While the 432 is clearly a very competent product, without any context thi...
