Is the seated-centered solo listening to music a dated tech?
Didn’t read the other posts, but almost all music is recorded in stereo so why wouldn’t you play it back that way and situate yourself in the position where it sounds best? Yes, there are speakers like Von Schweikert, Boenicke, etc. that use rear-...
You had Theta in the past, what did you move onto?
I never really understood plowing $$$ into a pre pro to be able to get good 2-channel sound.  IMHO most AVRs do an acceptable job of performing surround processing and amplification, so choosing one with preouts to feed stereo separates or an inte...
Subwoofer suggestions for budget system?
Do an SVS SB1000 Pro now, and add another one when funds allow. Two subs much better than one, and anything cheaper would be an insult to your Maggies. You can get an SB1000 Pro from their Outlet for $575 including shipping and a risk-free 45-day ...
Polk L100s - tube integrated recommendation
The CM and Unico Due are both great amps so I’d suggest reading the reviews and see which meets more with your tastes.  Also, if the ‘pile found the Cary worked well in Triode mode maybe I’m just wrong and maybe the Line Magnetic should still be i...
Polk L100s - tube integrated recommendation
Your speakers are rated at 85.5 dB and dip at least down to 3 Ohms so you’ll need more power than the 88ia can provide, and it’s also the reason I asked if you’d be open to a hybrid amp.  I’d recommend at least 70Wpc, and at your price new that’s ...
SabrinaX vs JA Perspective2 Graphene
Comes down to personal preference, but I prefer JA.  If nothing else, they don’t require the dealer to come out to place them to get the best performance.  And, personally, I find them more attractive.  FWIW.
Figure 8 ('Infinity') Power cord
+1 Cullen Cables.
Silver Speaker Cables
+1 @charles1dad
Tube preamp options
Congrats!  Great preamp.
Polk L100s - tube integrated recommendation
You really need to share what improvements/sound characteristics you’re looking for with switching to a tube integrated as their sound characteristics vary greatly.  Also, would you be open to a hybrid tube/SS design or do you want a pure tube amp?
Best sounding CD player
@grinnell If you haven’t already, why not do a free trial of Qobuz?  Great way to discover worlds of new music, and a lot of it is in hi-res.  FWIW.
Arcam AVR20 vs. Denon AVR-a110 anniversary edition...
If 2-channel and reliability are important I’d go with Anthem, but if that’s out of the budget Yamaha Aventage line would be my next choice. I got to compare Yammy directly with Arcam, Denon, and Marantz driving B&W 804 D3s in stereo and the Y...
Best sounding CD player
I loved the AMR cd77.1 when I owned a decade ago and have been trying to achieve that sound quality since. That is a great CD player for sure, but digital marches on and DACs today are damn good. I’d encourage you to audition some of the newer ...
Which preamp to go with pass labs x150.8
When you have no idea, and you are that thinking of others, right? @runwell What the hell are you even talking about? I do not suggest a tube preamp with any SS amplifier,as it is not a good match. What are you even basing this insane stateme...
Best sounding CD player
The problem I have with streaming is the monthly cost for subscription to receive high end quality material. Due respect, you’re totally missing the point.  For the price of one CD you could have access to thousands of new songs/CDs, many of wh...
