@debjit_g  I believe you're talking about atx board power supplies when you mention cost of ps for pf or jcat boards, Certainly these are pricey, JCAT Optimo would likely be my choice at around $5300. But the lps for individual boards can  vary gr...
Which USB reclocker is as good as the Innuos Phoenix USB?
UltraRendu does have two Femto clocks, one for network, other for usb, also does usb rendering. So, in fact its network and usb device. Sonore in different league vs prior SOTM SMS 200 Neo.   At this point I'm mostly in jjss49 camp as far as dedi...
Musetec (LKS) MH-DA005 DAC
I'm extremely leery about clocks after experience with the audiophile switch with OXCO clock, excessively precise sound staging and imaging, the very things clocks are supposed to improve. I assume my clocking is sufficient at the moment what with...
Which USB reclocker is as good as the Innuos Phoenix USB?
Unless one has done direct comparison in their system, only assumptions being made.   Lots of usb reclockers, decrapifiers, renderers/streamers out there, doubt there is some objective heiarchy of quality. The Phoenix does have quality design an...
After the thrill is gone
I started with acoustic suspension box speakers, went to various open baffle for at least fifteen years, to ported acoustic suspension, finally to horns.   Once I heard open baffle, box speakers always had boxy, or closed in sound for me, the mo...
Thinking INSIDE the Box.
Yeah, a lot of words to say internal wiring within components can be improved. I became curious about this at the very beginning of incorporating better IC, speaker and power cords in my systems. Couldn't understand the sense of using  this cable ...

Don't do me any favors
Well, Chapman's philosophy got some drivers killed, others injured.   The dead don't come back to life, but we do have reincarnation here at Audiogon meta physical world.

@debjit_g Very interesting. Assuming you have atx board, why don't you try Pink Faun I2S board to compare with Jcat usb?   Having mentioned many times throughout this thread my curiosity and assumption atx board servers may be SOTA, perhaps I sh...

@lordmelton  and others using I2S rather than usb. I continue to be intrigued with I2S only because possible theoretical advantages vs usb, this being I2S being native protocol for dacs.   I've been searching for servers with I2S, virtually non-...
Price Isn't Always Indicitive of Quality or Performance
Cable discussions are likely the most worthless in audio. Not worthless in the sense they don't provide some valuable information, but in the sense of eliciting no value for me in that virtually every cable has both detractors and proponents. For ...
I CONFESS: I Need Additional Chemical Input
I experimented with various coatings and fluorescent pads with cds and players many years ago. While initially thought I heard improved sound, over the long term  got lazy, stopped the coating process, removed the pads. In comparison of various mo...
Best Stereo Upgrade Value
I'd probably agree with every single post on this thread dependent on exact time and situation of system at that time, this means weak or squeaky link gets the grease.
Don't do me any favors
It is distressing when audio related threads get deleted, but then its generally because they morph into political fighting and personal insults. Mention anything about Chinese equipment, inevitably will go down this path. Too bad some good inform...
DAC diminishing returns
Shouldn't preamp, analog volume control be considered part of price/performance ratio. Many dacs don't have any means of volume control, others strip bits. In order  extracting maximum potential from these dacs requires some form of volume control...
