Choosing between Cornwall IV, Trio15 or X4 Ultra
Are you also planning to use a sub or two?  I ask because I can’t imagine how you will get the impact you desire in a room that big without some form of low end augmentation.
I want more bass…
With four 12" drivers and "not enough bass"....I'm very suspicious of the room.  Even though you don't have a subwoofer....do the subwoofer crawl around the room, on your hands and knees, sometimes moving your head up and down and see if there is...
Volti Razz Loudspeakers
I appreciate that the Razz now have an adjustable midrange and tweeter so they can be better tuned to your room.  Here is a brand new review for consideration…
Do Amps matter.. in an Amp?
I have a buddy with the Maggie 3.7i. We tried three amps one day, level matched. The Magtech… stereo version, The Parasound A21 and the Orchard Audio GanF class d Stereo Ultra. The Magtech at 900 watts into 4 ohms, the Halo and Orchard at 400 watt...
Mid-fi tube vs high-end SS
As you know, the BMRs will have some similarities in sound to some of the Salk models. Suggest you head over to the AC forum and do some reading on the Salk and VanAlstine threads.
Ditching Class A Amps due to Heat - Sort of a Poll
If a lot of people prefer the “class a” sound but would be happy not to have the heat or electric bill, maybe there is a market for a class d amp voiced with 2nd and 3rd harmonics to sound like “class a”??
Ditching Class A Amps due to Heat - Sort of a Poll
There may be two ways to think about this… you love your speakers so stick with the amp that brings out their best… or….   You are committed to class d so you find the speakers that brings out their best. Either way you are trying to optimize t...
I've been selling heavier gear for lighter gear
Also, weight puts a damper on resale options as the cost of shipping continues to climb.
Types of Audiophiles
The Searcher…“There is always something better” Yes, what I have sounds great… but come on… there is an always something better… the search continues.
Open Baffle Experience
Moonwatcher….I would note that your room is not really an issue for open baffles as long as you can have them 3-4’ out from the wall and as long as you match the woofer size/bass output to the room.
Open Baffle Experience
I’ve read some things in this thread that don’t jibe with my experience. I’ve had great box speakers that didn’t sound boxy. I now have Spatial Audio M3 Sapphires that are not forward and not harsh. I’ve driven them with a class d 2Cherry, an Orch...

I often think that at the shows, what we think is "overly bright" is in fact "overly loud" for the room/treatments...and compared to how we will position and listen at home.
New MOFI speaker (Andrew Jones)
It does appear from all the people posting over on SHF that the AJ Mofi's sounded really good at CAF....and no one thought they were too bright.
Open Baffle Experience
The suggestion to just throw away the box is somewhat simplistic in that the bass and midbass will sound weak. The better sounding open baffle speakers don’t have this issue because the designer selected drivers to compensate and produce a balance...

I own the Spatial Audio M3 Sapphires....so count me as an OB fan. AC has a whole section devoted to OB not specifically sponsored by any manufacturer...here is a link for some light reading. My general overall comment about OB sound is most of th...
