What would you choose for about $1k, ZU DW, SVS Ultra bookshelf or Tekton Lore?
With the bookshelves and the maggies, you will definitely need a sub in a room that big. There are lots of fans of the Zu and same for the Lore.  You have a pretty big room and I suspect that the Lore will have a better low end just based on revie...
Tekton custom grills
@Aniwolfe  I think this is a valid suggestion and this is what I did when I ordered the Lores from Tekton....and yes they asked me a couple of times if they could just ship the speakers and I declined and shortly thereafter, speakers and grills we...
Quality issues with Tekton speakers....
It seems pretty clear that Eric made the effort to “make things right”.  And it seems pretty obvious that swapping the speakers or the drivers were the preferred solutions. All companies have problems at one point or another... the key is what hap...
Tekton Lore vs. M-Lore
@3402    I've owned the Lores for about 4 years now.  I'm driving them with an oppo 103 into a parasound 2100 into a crown xls 2000....by all standards not a very high end front end.  The sound the system produces can be described as tonal accurac...
Hypex N core module
If you look at the specs for a Merrill tarranis which uses an ncore module for class d output they show bandwidth to 50 kHz. If you look at the ps audio stellar 300 which uses an ice module and bandwidth to 50khz. The benchmark ahb2 is shown as a ...
Hypex N core module
In what would be considered a "relatively affordable price range"...what is that then differentiates the Nord Acoustics from a PS Audio Stellar 300 from a Merrill Audio Taranas from a Benchmark ABH2 as they all have been given accolades for great ...
What are the best loudspeakers under $4000 to re-create lifelike piano
It's pretty hard to understand how ohm can offer 120 days and silver line offer none... return option. It's pretty much understood that a great loudspeaker may sound less spectacular when you get it home. This is is the same problem you face with ...
Tekton Double Impacts
@agronatz   Beyond price, we all have our top 3... the things we treasure most... such as clarity, imaging, huge soundstage, sounstage depth, soundtage height, dynamic impact, no stridency, etc, etc, etc. And, key for most of us, how to get the mos...
What are the best loudspeakers under $4000 to re-create lifelike piano
@kalali. What do you mean when you say the sound is too diffused.  Are you describing excess ambiance...or lack of clarity...or reverb????
What are the best loudspeakers under $4000 to re-create lifelike piano
It is interesting/unusual?? that there are so few comments about the modern day ohm Walsh on any forum you look at compared to most other loudspeakers. Not sure what it means but given how long the company has been around its surprising. Given tha...
Help! Subwoofer Newbie Problems!
Here are a couple other options to try with buy and return options being offered. A parasound halo preamp with hi pass and low pass output options so you can dial in the best hi pass option to the mains with your ears.  And or a crown xls drivecor...
What are the best loudspeakers under $4000 to re-create lifelike piano
ASVJerry.  Ok, this is a little off subject but it looks like you built your own style of walshes. What kind of transducers (paper, titanium, etc) did you use and why. It it seems strange that so few loudspeaker companies have adopted then markete...
Tekton Double Impacts
@nitrobob  no doubt that 110 db at the listening position which is 120 db at 1 meter is going to be a challenge for most speakers...if you don't mind the look of these and if you can put them 3' out from the wall, I think you may find them up to t...
What are the best loudspeakers under $4000 to re-create lifelike piano
@bondmanp  thanks for the comments...I see on other forums that the relatively few people that comment on Ohm Walshs also seem to find them very good on piano.  The ohm room size guide is confusing...I'm guessing that you could fill a very large r...
What are the best loudspeakers under $4000 to re-create lifelike piano
So, for some people, reproducing a piano may be less meaningful than reproducing an acoustic guitar or a clarinet. In theory, we could have xxxx more threads to see what is recommened for other instruments or voices. Then we could tally the result...
